Pinion gear for a fishing reel
A pinion gear meshes with a drive gear. The drive gear is connected to a handle shaft of a fishing reel that winds a fishing line onto a spool supported by a reel body by rotational operation of the handle shaft rotatably supported to the reel body to transmit the rotation of the handle shaft. The pinion gear includes a gear portion and a shaft. The gear portion meshes with the drive gear. The shaft portion, to which the gear portion is non-rotatably fitted, is integrally rotatable with the gear portion. The gear portion and the shaft portion are formed from different materials, and the specific gravity of the shaft portion is smaller than the specific gravity of the gear portion.
Spincast reels
A spincast reel having a central body having a front cover, a rear cover, a foot extending from the rear cover and adapted to be connected to a fishing bole; an opening on the front cover adapted to receive a fishing line; a spool hub; a handle connected to the central body; a transversal shaft connected to the handle; a main shaft extending axially through the spool hub; bushings, a drive gear, and a pinion gear operatively connected to the transversal shaft, the bushings, the drive gear, and the pinion gear rotate the transversal shaft; a first pickup pin and a second pickup pin located inside the spool hub, the first and the second pickup pins located diametrically opposed to each other; and the first and the second pickup pins move parallel to the fishing pole towards the front cover in a first position and towards the rear cover in a second position.
Fishing reel axial force distribution
A baitcaster includes a housing, a spool, a drivetrain, a bearing housing, and an input shaft. The housing defines a first member and a second member. The spool is positioned between the first member and the second member. The spool is configured to rotate in a first direction and a second direction. The drivetrain is positioned proximate the first member and is configured to rotate the spool in the first direction and the second direction. The bearing housing is positioned between the spool and the drivetrain. The input shaft is disposed along at least a midpoint of the baitcaster. The input shaft is configured to coaxially align the spool, drivetrain, and bearing housing. An axial force is generated between the spool and the drivetrain. The axial force is distributed through at least a portion of the bearing housing to prohibit the axial force from transferring into the drivetrain.
Spinning reel
A spinning reel that forwardly releases a fishing line includes a reel unit, a handle, a drive shaft, a joint structure, and a rotation transmission mechanism. The handle includes a handle shaft and a handle arm, the handle shaft is rotatably supported by the reel unit at a first position, and the handle arm is mounted to the handle shaft and is unitarily rotatable with the handle shaft. The handle arm extends in a radial direction from a rotational axis of the handle shaft. The drive shaft includes a first end and a second end disposed opposite to the first end, and is rotatably supported by the reel unit at a second position different from the first position. The joint structure joins the handle shaft and the drive shaft, and the handle shaft is unitarily rotatable with the drive shaft.
FISHING REEL WITH CONCENTRIC DRIVELINE
A fishing rod assembly includes a rod and a reel assembly. The reel assembly includes a housing, a spool positioned within the housing, the spool configured to rotate about an axis to retrieve or let out a fishing line, a drive mechanism concentric with the axis, the drive mechanism configured to receive rotational kinetic energy from a user and drive the spool to take-up fishing line when a counter-torque provided to the spool by the fishing line is less than a target torque, and a drag mechanism. The drag mechanism is drivable by the drive mechanism to (a) drive the spool to take-up the fishing line when the counter-torque provided to the spool by the fishing line is less than the target torque or (b) provide a drag force to the spool when the counter-torque provided to the spool by the fishing line is less than the target torque.
Fishing reel
A fishing reel configured to forwardly release a fishing line includes a reel unit, a spool rotatably supported by the reel unit, an electric power generator that generates an electric power upon a rotation of the spool, an electric component including a controller, an overvoltage protection circuit, and a bypass circuit. The controller operates using the electric power generated by the electric power generator. The overvoltage protection circuit is electrically connected to the electric power generator and the electric component, the overvoltage protection circuit limits a voltage of the electric power output from the electric power generator to a predetermined magnitude. The bypass circuit supplies the electric power generated by the electric power generator to the electric component by bypassing the overvoltage protection circuit upon a determination that the voltage of the electric power generated by the electric power is less than or equal to a predetermined value.
Baitcaster with internal gear set
A baitcaster for retrieving a fishing line includes a housing, a spool, and a compound gear set. The spool is positioned at least partially within the housing, defining an inner volume, and includes a spindle. The compound gear set is positioned at least partially within the inner volume of the spool. The compound gear set is configured to receive input mechanical energy from a first shaft and transfer output mechanical energy through a second shaft to drive the spool and thereby retrieve the fishing line.
Reel with disengageable seal
Spinning reels for left or right-handed use have reduced internal friction by a selectively disengageable seal at the unused connection port.
Fishing reel
A fishing reel including: a main body mounted on a fishing rod; a spool for allowing a fishing line to be wound or unwound, the spool being installed on the main body so as to be rotatable; and a fishing wheel for rotating the spool, the fishing wheel being connected to a spool shaft gearshift which induces rotation of the spool. The fishing wheel is connected to the spool shaft gearshift via angle variation means, and a connection angle between the wheel and the gearshift varies using the angle variation means to reduce strain applied on a user's wrist while rotating the spool.
