A method for optimizing filtration in an aquaculture system. The method for optimizing filtration includes, taking at least one sample of matter from an aquaculture system, defining at least one predetermined characteristic to test the sample of matter for, testing the at least one sample of matter, determining if the at least one predetermined characteristic is present within the sample, modifying resource distribution within the aquaculture system, taking at least two samples of matter within the aquaculture system, re-defining at least one predetermined characteristic to test the at least two samples of matter for, testing the at least two samples of matter, determining if the re-defined at least one predetermined characteristic is present within the at least two samples of matter and ensuring the filtration system will retain a state of optimization.

AQUARIUM AQUAPONICS SYSTEM AND METHOD
20170223913 · 2017-08-10 ·

An aquaponic housing unit fits over standard aftermarket aquariums. The system utilizes the natural symbiotic relationship between fish and plants to achieve adequate filtration for the aquarium below. A large planting container is elevated over the aquarium by two support legs so that the planting container is larger than the aquarium. The support legs can be used to hide wires or control boxes, along with using the legs as storage compartments or additional planting area. An aquarium pump delivers water to the planting container so that fish waste can be used as nutrients for plants in the container. The nitrogen cycle transforms the fish waste into useable nutrients for the plants, thus cleaning the water for the aquarium. The system can be used as a learning tool for students of all ages. It also creates a low maintenance, self-watering and self-fertilizing garden.

An apparatus is a mountable fishing baitwell. The apparatus allows a user to easily access live bait and properly sustains live bait. The apparatus includes a support structure, a water reservoir, a mounting base, and an aeration unit. The support structure upholds the water reservoir and houses the aeration unit. The water reservoir contains the water and the live bait. The mounting base secures the apparatus onto the bow rail of a boat. The support structure further includes a structure body, a reservoir bed, and a storage compartment. The water reservoir further includes a receptacle and a hand-permeable cover. The hand-permeable cover detachably attaches about an opening of the receptacle, and thereby prevents the live bait from escaping and allows the receptacle to be refilled. The aeration unit distributes oxygen into the water within the receptacle which better sustains the live bait within the receptacle.
