The bearing housing is positioned between the spool and the drivetrain. The input shaft is disposed along at least a midpoint of the baitcaster. The input shaft is configured to coaxially align the spool, drivetrain, and bearing housing. An axial force is generated between the spool and the drivetrain. The axial force is distributed through at least a portion of the bearing housing to prohibit the axial force from transferring into the drivetrain.

The fishing reel further includes a plurality of friction washers including at least one drag washer to interface with and rotate with the drag gear, and at least one shaft washer to interface with and rotate with the main shaft. At least one of the friction washers is positioned radially outward from the main shaft bearing and is free to rotate relative to the main shaft via the main shaft bearing.

DUAL-BEARING REEL

A dual-bearing reel is described. A clutch mechanism transmits and interrupts the rotational force of the reel handle to the reel spool. A clutch-operating member is movably supported by the reel body between a first position and a second position, and is biased toward the first position. A clutch control mechanism includes a clutch cam that rotates only in one direction each time the clutch-operating member moves from the first to the second position. The clutch control mechanism alternately switches the clutch mechanism to the transmitting state and the interrupting state by rotation of the clutch cam. A clutch return mechanism returns the clutch to the transmitting state by rotation of the handle when the clutch mechanism is in the interrupting state. A regulating member regulates operation of the clutch return mechanism when the clutch mechanism is in the interrupting state by movement of the clutch-operating member.

A fishing reel of the present invention comprises includes a battery box that accommodates a replaceable battery, a clutch mechanism comprising a clutch operation member that switches a spool between a free rotation state and a fishing line winding state, and a clutch position detection unit that determines whether the clutch mechanism is in an ON state or an OFF state. The clutch position detection unit comprises a magnet held by a holding member that is movable integrally with the clutch operation member, and a clutch detection sensor that detects the magnet, and the clutch detection sensor is accommodated in the battery box.

Single-bearing reel

A single-bearing reel includes a reel unit, a spool shaft, a support unit, a spool, a first restriction member, a second restriction member, a pair of first seal members, a second seal member, and a third seal member. The pair of first seal members is disposed on an outer peripheral surface of the support unit. One of the pair of first seal members seals between the support unit and the first restriction member. The other of the pair of first seal members seals between the support unit and the second restriction member. The second seal member seals an inner peripheral part of the support unit from an inner peripheral part of the first restriction member. A third seal member seals the inner peripheral part of the support unit from an inner peripheral part of the second restriction member.
