In some embodiments, apparatuses and methods are provided herein useful to track objects on a moving conveyor system. In some embodiments, an RFID based tracking system comprises a conveyor system to move and transport objects along a conveyance path, wherein each object includes a near field only RFID tag associated therewith and identifying the object. Each near field only RFID tag is not coupled to a far field antenna such that it is not readable in a far field of RFID communication and communicates only in a near field of RFID communication. An RFID tag reader is positioned to attempt to read the near field only RFID tag of each object. And a control circuit processes reads of the near field only RFID tags by the first RFID reader to determine an order of the objects being conveyed.

RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION ARRANGEMENT FOR A CHAIN CONVEYOR FOR PIECE GOODS AND CHAIN CONVEYOR HAVING SUCH A RADIO-FREQUENCY IDENTIFICATION ARRANGEMENT
20170362035 · 2017-12-21 ·

A radio-frequency identification arrangement for a chain conveyor for piece goods having a driven linked chain is disclosed, comprising a support rail element 3 for guiding and supporting the linked chain 4 in the region of the radio-frequency identification arrangement and a radio-frequency reading device or radio-frequency writing/reading device 10 for performing contactless reading or reading/writing of information by means of a radio-frequency signal.

According to the invention, the radio-frequency reading device or radio-frequency writing/reading device 10 is disposed directly on a bottom 30 of the support rail element 3 and facing an underside of the linked chain 4. For this purpose, the latter may be accommodated in a recess or cavity of the support rail element 3.

By means of the radio-frequency identification arrangement, an RFID tag, which is mounted on a workpiece or workpiece carrier, can be read or read and written to through the linked chain of the chain conveyor. Furthermore, a relatively short distance between the radio-frequency reading device or radio-frequency writing/reading device and the RFID tag may be accomplished and thus an advantageously low power of the radio-frequency signal used for identification.

Presorter holding system and method for automated prescription fulfillment

An automated method and system for a conveyor holding system for holding vials of a multi-vial order in a holding pattern until all vials of the order have been filled by an automatic pill counter. The system uses RFID information to divert vials off the conveyor into the conveyor holding loop if all vials of the multi-vial order have not been filled. The system is adapted to divert the vials of the multi-vial order out of the holding loop when all vials of the multi-vial order have been filled.

A belt tear monitoring system for a conveyor belt includes an RFID tag embedded in the conveyor belt, and at least two conductor loops which are embedded in the conveyor belt and each closed. One of the at least two conductor loops is arranged within another one of the at least two conductor loops. The at least two conductor loops are short-circuited to one another at a short-circuit location, with the short-circuit location and the RFID tag being arranged in a region of belt edges of the conveyor belt which lie opposite one another in a longitudinal direction of the conveyor belt, and with the at least two conductor loops and the RFID tag being connected to one another in an electrically conductive manner.

Selective sorting method

A selective sorting method in order to identify and sort material objects of different natures, sizes and shapes having the form of a pile is described. The method is characterized in that the choice of a gripping zone, associated with an object contained in the pile to be sorted, is carried out automatically, and in that the defining of the nature of the object associated with this gripping zone is carried out using at least one sensor that measures at least one electromagnetic radiation emitted by this object. A device able to implement such a method is also described.

Conveyor belt system with integrated sensor and method of using same

A conveyor belt system includes a conveyor belt and a sensor assembly integrated in the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt includes a plurality of wickets, and a plurality of interconnecting rods about which the wickets hinge. The sensor assembly includes a load-bearing member and a sensor fitted in the load-bearing member.
