Lure apparatus for fishing and associated methods are disclosed. In some embodiments, the lure apparatus includes (1) a head portion; (2) a tail portion; and (3) an optional weight portion. The head portion and the tail portion are operably engaged. The head portion has a center opening, which enables a fishing line or wire to pass through. The optional weight portion is positioned inside the head portion to adjust the weight of the overall lure apparatus. The head portion has two side openings. The tail portion has two arms, each of which has a protrusion configured to be positioned in a corresponding one of the two side openings of the head portion. Once the two protrusions are positioned in the side openings, the two protrusions engage with the head portion and restrain the tail portion from moving relatively to the head portion.

The invention is a fishing lure that attracts predatory fish including pelagic fish such as istiophoriformes including without limitation billfish, tuna, mackerel, wahoo, sailfish and marlins, by mimicking an injured flying fish. The lure includes a head comprising a fish mask that has two eye sockets on its exterior on which are affixed artificial eyes, and an interior cavity. The lure also includes a body comprising a first squid skirt, and a first wing and a second wing such that each wing is coupled to the head. The head also comprises an opening that is adapted to receive a fishing line therethrough, the opening is shaped to allow the angle of the line to change in the opening so that the lure moves back-and-forth and up-and-down when pulled in water. The action of the wing mimics an injured flying fish when breaking the water's surface.

A fishing tool includes a main body and a holding assembly coupled to the main body. The holding assembly includes a bottom holding jaw and a top holding jaw rotatably coupled to the bottom holding jaw and movable relative to the bottom holding jaw between an open holding position and a closed holding position to selectively hold a fish hook in place. The holding assembly is rotatable relative to the main body and configured to be secured relative to the main body in a fixed number of positions.

A fishing tool includes a main body and a holding assembly coupled to the main body. The holding assembly includes a bottom holding jaw and a top holding jaw rotatably coupled to the bottom holding jaw and movable relative to the bottom holding jaw between an open holding position and a closed holding position to selectively hold a fish hook in place. The holding assembly is rotatable relative to the main body and configured to be secured relative to the main body in a fixed number of positions.

A fishing lure having a lure body with a first portion and a second portion. The lure has a rail extending from the first portion of the lure body to the second portion of the lure body. The rail has a first portion and a second portion. An attachment member is adapted to be combined with the rail and move between the first portion of the rail and the second portion of the rail. In use, when line is being let out of the reel for jigging so there is no upward force on the lure, the attachment member moves toward the front portion of the rail to allow the lure to descend quickly in a downward facing orientation through the water column to a desired depth. Then, upon application of some upward force on the line, the attachment member moves rearward along the rail to the second portion of the rail causing the lure to transition to a horizontal presentation.

A fishing lure is disclosed herein with a fishing line attachment structure comprising a hook structure, and a body structure mounted on the hook structure. The body structure has a body, a threaded neck having a cylindrical portion defining a first connector, and a head defining a second connector. The head and neck define the attachment structure. The neck includes a port for receiving the fishing line and external circumferential screw threads. The head having an aperture and internal screw threads. The fishing line is adapted to pass through the aperture of the head and the port of the neck and rest on a gripping surface from where the neck integrally mounted to the body, and the head is screwed over the neck while clenching the fishing line between the gripping surface of the body and the head. The fishing lure further comprises a weed guard and bite depth control.

The body structure has a body, a threaded neck having a cylindrical portion defining a first connector, and a head defining a second connector. The head and neck define the attachment structure. A fishing lure system includes a first member including a first end and a second end. The first end includes a fishing line connector, and the second end includes a female connector. The fishing lure system further includes a second member including a first end and a second end. The first end includes a male connector that is removably engageable with the female connector of the first member, and the second end includes a fishing hook.

A snap swivel for fishing includes a snap component and a swivel component. The snap component includes an eye, a first arm member extending down from the eye, a second arm member defining a lever arm, a bottom flexure region extending between the first arm member and the second arm member, and the bottom flexure region exerting a biasing force to urge the second arm member to a relaxed open position. A coil arrangement formed about the first arm member includes an open gap for receipt of a latching hook on the end of the second arm member in interlocking engagement with the first arm member to close the snap with a distal tip of the latching hook contained within the coil arrangement and guarded to prevent snagging or cutting other fishing tackle.
