Watercraft automation and aquatic effort data utilization
A trolling device for a boat includes a trolling motor and a control mechanism. The control mechanism controls at least one of the speed and the direction of the trolling motor. The control mechanism is configured to receive control instructions from an electronic GPS mapping computer to cause the trolling motor to maintain a controlled drift of the fishing boat with respect to an anchor point, water current rate, water current direction, wind, and/or wave action.
HYDROFOIL FISHING LURE APPARATUS
Hydrofoil fishing lure apparatus for use with trolling techniques behind a boat. In one embodiment, the hydrofoil fishing lure apparatus includes an artificial lure having a body. A hydrofoil that includes a strut and a lifting surface, with the strut for the hydrofoil being attached to the body of the artificial lure is also included. In some variants, the artificial lure may be modeled after flying fish species. Wing retraction elements may be utilized on the hydrofoil to retract or expand the wings of the flying fish to provide for a more natural presentation. Other variants described herein include fishing lure platforms that include a hydrofoil that allow for the mounting of frozen, live, or other types of artificial baits on the hydrofoil itself.

TELESCOPING OUTRIGGER ARM
A fishing outrigger including a telescoping outrigger assembly is provided. The outrigger assembly may include a cantilever spring assembly, at least two telescoping tubes, a central spring, a stabilizer base and pole, and at least one mounting body. The cantilever spring assembly may be adapted to lock the extended telescoping tubes securely in place and allow for easy retraction. The cantilever spring assembly may be coupled to the stabilizer base, both of which may ride along the outside of a telescoping tube. Mounting assemblies may be disposed at the ends of the outrigger assembly and be adapted to secure the outrigger assembly to a boat or other vehicle.

Outrigger clamp
An outrigger clamp to couple together two or more nestable tubes. The clamp can include a guide for retaining filament. The guide can rotate about an axis based on the forces applied to the outrigger to better align the filament and guides, and therefore align the forces applied to the outrigger and filament. The retainer can be, for example, one or more rollers that help prevent the filament from becoming creased or kinked during use.
