SIDETRACKER

A directional guide for a spreader bar includes a body extending along a longitudinal axis. The body includes a first fin and a second fin spaced apart from the first fin. The first and second fins are coupled to the body and are configured to control a vertical position of the body in water through which the body is moving. Grooves are formed in the body. The grooves include a first groove extending along the longitudinal axis of the body, a second groove crossing the first groove and a third groove crossing the first groove. A keel is rotatably coupled to the body. The keel is configured to rotate between the first groove, the second groove, and the third groove. The keel is configured to control a lateral position of the body in water through which the body is moving.

Float Fishing Apparatus

One aspect of the disclosure includes a float fishing apparatus having an elongated connecting member and a float. The float has a body portion with a forward end and a rearward end. The body portion has an opening extending therethrough with the connecting member passing slidably through the opening. The body portion is rotatably mounted on the connecting member. The float has a fin member extending from the body portion. The fin member has a leading edge and a spaced trailing edge with a pressure surface extending therebetween. The pressure surface of the fin member responds to water pressure when the float is moved through water to rotate the float and intermittently splash the water. In some forms the fin member extends around only a portion of the body portion of the float such that the float has an asymmetrical shape.

Disclosed herein is a fishing flasher device which is configured to be attached to a main fishing line to be drawn through the water, generally by trolling behind a slowly moving water vessel. The flasher device has an on-axis mainline attachment on the forward end to produce a spinning or rotational movement about the axis of the mainline. The flasher device also has at least two off-axis mainline attachments at varied lateral offsets from the longitudinal axis at the forward end of the flasher. The off-axis attachments configured to produce an orbiting motion rather than a rotational movement of the flasher device. A trailing line is generally attached to a trailing line attachment point on the rearward end of the flasher device to which is connected lures, bait, hooks, etc. for catching fish.

A roller assembly for guiding lines. The roller assembly includes a shaft adapted to couple to a receiving area of the line guide, and a roller rotatably coupled to the shaft and including grooves adapted to respectively receive guide lines. A distance between an outer surface of the roller and a surface of the receiving area may be less than a thickness of the lines.

A pop gear or gang troll includes a wire leader and a plurality of spinner blades. The spinner blades may include a polycarbonate body or a body of some other material, a fragmented reflective material disposed on the polycarbonate body so as to reflect incident light in varying directions depending on the relative location of the incident light, and a luminescent material. The spinner blades may have a shape such as generally fish shaped, ovoid, round, or spoon shaped. A lure includes a polycarbonate body (or a body formed from some other material), a fragmented reflective material disposed on the polycarbonate body so as to reflect incident light in varying directions depending on the relative location of the incident light, a luminescent material, and a hook attached to the body. The body of the lure may have a shape designed to lure fish and/or to cause a desired motion to the lure (e.g., vibration).
