RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus including a recording head that performs recording, a feed roller that feeds out a set medium, a transport driving roller that transports the medium, which is fed out by the feed roller, towards an opposing position that opposes the recording head, and an auxiliary roller provided between the feed roller and the transport driving roller, the auxiliary roller assisting transportation of the medium. When the apparatus is seen from a side of the apparatus, the auxiliary roller overlaps the feed roller in a height direction of the apparatus.
SHEET FEEDER AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet feeder includes a separation roller, a retard roller, and a return latch. The separation roller rotates in a forward direction to separate a sheet and transport the separated sheet in a sheet transport direction. The retard roller forms, together with the separation roller, a nip point and rotates in a reverse direction to return a sheet in a direction opposite to the sheet transport direction. The return latch moves from a retracted position to a protruding position to return a sheet remaining after separation by the separation roller to a position upstream of the nip point in the sheet transport direction. The return latch, when at the retracted position, is retracted from a sheet transport path and, when at the protruding position, protrudes to the sheet transport path.
MEDIUM TRANSPORT DEVICE AND IMAGE READING APPARATUS
A medium transport device includes a feeding unit that can be disposed at a contact position and a retracted position, a first restriction member that rotates between a restriction position and a release position, and a transport guide positioned on a side opposite to the feeding unit with a transport path interposed therebetween. When the first restriction member is positioned at the restriction position, the first restriction member maintains a state in which the feeding unit is positioned at the retracted position by the tip end contacting the feeding unit. When the first restriction member is positioned at the restriction position, the tip end thereof is positioned closer to the mounting portion side than the position of the rotation axis of the first restriction member in the transport direction.
MEDIA SUPPLYING APPARATUS AND RECORDING APPARATUS
A media supplying apparatus includes a first support portion, a second support portion, a housing portion, and a holding portion. The first support portion has a first supporting surface for supporting a paper sheet, is inclinably provided, and when inclined from a non-use state, switches to a use state. The second support portion has a second supporting surface that supports the paper sheet, and is disposed upstream of the first support portion in the use state in a supply direction of the paper sheet. The housing portion is, inclinably toward an upstream of the first supporting portion in the supply direction, provided, and retractably houses the second support portion. The holding portion holds the first support portion and the housing portion in an inclination orientation so that the first supporting surface and the second supporting surface are aligned in the supply direction.
MEDIUM CONVEYING APPARATUS FOR DETECTING A FOLDING OF A MEDIUM
A medium conveying apparatus includes a first optical sensor located on an upper part of the housing and in a central part of the housing in a direction perpendicular to a medium conveying direction, a second optical sensor located on an upper part of the housing and on a side of the first optical sensor in the direction perpendicular to the medium conveying direction, and a processor to detect a folding of a medium based on the first signal or the second signal, and stop feeding of the medium by the feed roller in accordance with a detection result of the folding of the medium. The first light emitter emits first light toward a downstream side of the medium in the medium conveying direction, and the second light emitter emits second light toward an upstream side of the medium in the medium conveying direction.
Feeding apparatus and method for the same
A feeding apparatus includes a placement unit on which a recording material is to be placed, a feeding rotating member, a regulating plate, a detecting unit, and a control unit. The feeding rotating member feeds the recording material placed on the placement unit. The regulating plate regulates a position of an upstream end of the recording material placed on the placement unit in a direction of feeding by the feeding rotating member. The detecting unit detects a size of the recording material from a position of the regulating plate. The control unit changes duration of execution of a recording-material feeding operation performed by the feeding rotating member based on the size of the recording material detected by the detecting unit and a size of the recording material specified in advance by a user.
STACK HEIGHT IN IMAGING DEVICES
Examples relating to determining stack height in imaging devices are described herein. According to one example, an imaging device includes an input roller assembly to transport a print medium towards an image-forming assembly of the imaging device. The input roller assembly can include a pinch roller for drawing the print medium from a media stack. The imaging device further includes a pressure plate movably coupled to a body portion of the imaging device and biased towards the pinch roller. The pressure plate may hold the media stack between itself and the pinch roller and is movable by a first distance from a neutral position when the media stack is there between. The first distance is measured from a fixed point to a measurement region on the pressure plate and can indicate an instantaneous stack height of the media stack.
SHEET STORING DEVICE AND IMAGE PROCESSING APPARATUS
A sheet storing device includes a sheet cassette and a sheet tray. The sheet cassette is for storing sheets. The sheet tray is at an inner bottom surface of the sheet cassette and rotatable around a shaft that is located along one end of the inner bottom surface in a sheet feed direction. An upper surface of the sheet tray on which the sheets are to be stored has a projection extending from a first end of the sheet tray towards a second end of the sheet tray, which is coupled to the shaft, such that the sheets on the upper surface are at least partially bent in an upward convex shape at a region above the projection.
SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS, PRINTING APPARATUS, AND SHEET FEEDING METHOD
It is aimed to downsize of the entire apparatus without setting the swing angle of a swing member to be unnecessarily large. A pickup roller, which is for feeding a document disposed on a feeding tray, is supported by a pickup arm that is swingable about a rotation shaft. Depending on the rotational direction of the rotation axis, the pickup arm swings between the first position, in which the pickup roller is in contact with the document on the feeding tray, and the second position, in which the pickup roller is above and not in contact with the feeding tray. An arm member is rotated by rotation of the rotation axis after the pickup arm swings to the second position.
SHEET GUIDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS INCORPORATING THE SHEET GUIDING DEVICE
A sheet guiding device includes a cover unit, a swing guide, a link member, and a contact member. The cover unit is configured to be openably disposed on a housing of an image forming apparatus. The swing guide is configured to move between a guide position at which the swing guide is open to guide a sheet and a retracted position at which the swing guide is closed. The swing guide is configured to move from the retracted position to the guide position along with closing movement of the cover unit. The link member has one end configured to be held by the housing and an opposite end engaged with the swing guide. The contact member is disposed on the cover unit. The contact member is configured to contact the link member to rotate the link member in the closing movement of the cover unit.
