A register (20; 60) for a processing machine (1) for processing plate-like elements (10) includes a gripping element (21; 22) for placing the plate-like elements (10) in a gripper bar (31) of a conveyor (30) of a processing machine (1) conveying the plate-like elements (10) in a longitudinal direction, an actuator module (201, 202) to drive the gripping element (21; 22), at least one front correction sensor module (7) configured to measure the front position of register marks (12a) printed on a front section of the plate-like element (10) grasped by the gripping element (21; 22). The register (20; 60) includes at least one front pre-correction sensor module (80), placed upstream of the front correction sensor module (7) in the longitudinal direction, the front pre-correction sensor module (80) is configured: to detect the passage of a front transversel edge of the plate-like element (10) in at least two longitudinally spaced lateral axis of detection (P1, P2), one located in front of the other, and to provide measurements to a computation and control unit (40) of the processing machine (1) that is configured: to control the actuator module (201, 202) in order to move the gripping element (21; 22) toward the gripper bar (31) and to activate the gripping element (21; 22) in order to grasp a plate-like element (10). Also a processing machine for processing plate-like elements includes the register. A method for placing plate-like elements within a processing machine is disclosed.

RECORDING APPARATUS

A recording apparatus is provided with a transport roller pair which transports a medium toward a recorder, a feed roller which transports the medium toward the transport roller pair, and a controller which controls the transport roller pair and the feed roller. The controller is capable of executing a combined skew rectification mode which executes one of a first skew rectification operation in which a leading end of the medium abuts the transport roller pair using backward rotation of the transport roller pair and forward rotation of the feed roller and a second skew rectification operation in which the transport roller pair to rotate backward without driving the feed roller and discharges the leading end of the medium to the upstream side of the transport roller pair, and subsequently executes the other of the skew rectification operations.

RECORDING APPARATUS

A recording apparatus is provided with a transport roller pair which transports a medium toward a recorder, a feed roller which transports the medium toward the transport roller pair, and a controller which controls the transport roller pair and the feed roller. Arrangement and method for aligning at least one note of value

An apparatus for aligning notes of value along a transport path has a note reader with a scanning line with areas detection areas there along. The scanning areas are arranged along a line orthogonally with respect to a central axis of the transport path. A first and at least one second transport elements serve to transport the note along the transport path in at least one transport direction. The transport elements each contact the note in a contact area. At least one aligning apparatus is used for aligning the note, which is arranged between the first and second transport elements and forms a section of the transport path. The note reader detects the trailing edge of the note in a first scanning area and in a second scanning area.

The control unit is configured to (a) determine as a sheet center actual position a center position of the print sheet on the basis of the detected positions of both end edges of the print sheet, and (b) adjust a center position of the image to be printed so as to cause the center position of the image to be printed to agree with the sheet center actual position.
