A system for dispensing film wrap is disclosed, the system comprises a dispenser having a first connector portion and second connector portion spaced apart from the first connector portion. A roll of film wrap comprising a core having film wrap wound thereon is configured to extend between the first connector portion and the second connector portion. At least one end of the wall of the core and/or the edge of the film wrap is profiled and interlockable with a complimentary interlocking member located at the remote end of the first or second connector portion so as to prevent lateral movement of the film wrap with respect to the first and second connector portions of the dispenser. This beneficially reduces slippage of the film wrap when it is being used to wrap a load.

Dynamic performance and active damping methods in web winder tension control systems
A control system for controlling operation of main and secondary drive units in a web winder system to provide tension control of a continuous material web is disclosed. The control system causes the main drive unit to operate in a velocity mode to set a linear velocity of the continuous material web. The control system receives inputs from tension and speed detectors in the web winder system that detect a tension and speed of the continuous material web and causes the secondary drive unit to operate in a modified torque regulated closed-loop tension control mode so as to control a tension in the web material, with the control system causing the secondary drive unit to operate according to a torque regulated closed-loop tension control mode and integrate a speed feedback loop into the torque regulated closed-loop tension control mode so as to introduce active damping into the tension control.
Slit Sheet Tensioning Device
An expansion device includes an unexpanded slit sheet roll that is wound on a paper core that is longer than the width of the slit sheet paper roll. The paper core is placed onto a rod member. An adjustable downward pressure is exerted on the paper core and the paper core exerts pressure on the rod member. As the paper is pulled, the downward pressure creates the friction required to enable the unexpanded slit sheet to be unwind and fed while simultaneously expanding.
TOOLING APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR APPLYING MATERIAL TO A PRE-FORMED INSERT
A tooling apparatus for applying a tape material to a pre-formed insert is provided. The tooling apparatus comprises at least one guiding element coupled to an apparatus frame. An attachment shaft defines a rotational axis and extends through the guiding element. The attachment shaft includes an attachment element for securing the pre-formed insert thereto. An activation element is operatively engaged with the attachment shaft to rotate the pre-formed insert about the rotational axis at a predetermined rotation rate. A tape control assembly is spaced from the attachment shaft for axial translation along a tape control axis at a predetermined translation rate. Rotation of the pre-formed insert about the rotational axis and translation of the tape control element at the predetermined translation rate causes the material to be drawn under tension from the tape control assembly and applied to the pre-formed insert in a plurality of layers.

WEB CONVEYING APPARATUS WITH BRAKE
A conveying apparatus includes: a conveyor including a brake to apply brakes to a web, the conveyor configured to convey the web while giving tension to the web by applying brakes to the web using torque of the brake; and a controller configured to control the conveyor. The controller performs at least one of a first control or a second control. The first control includes determining a first torque of the brake during acceleration of the web to be a value depending on a first inertial load at the conveyor during the acceleration of the web. The second control includes determining a second torque of the brake during deceleration of the web to be a value depending on a second inertial load at the conveyor during the deceleration of the web.
WEB CONVEYING APPARATUS WITH BRAKE
A conveying apparatus includes: a conveyor configured to convey a web while unwinding the web from a web roll; a brake configured to apply brakes to rotation of the web roll; and a controller configured to perform control to unwind the web from the web roll and convey the web with the conveyor while giving tension to the web by applying brakes to the rotation of the web roll using torque of the brake. The controller is configured to determine the torque of the brake during deceleration of the web to be a value depending on an inertial load of the web roll.

A system for supporting a reel of stamping foil (2) that is mounted rotatably, includes: two flanges (9, 9) connected to the shaft of the reel (2, 2) that is positioned between the flanges, each flange having a rotary shaft extending outward of the reel; two end walls (7, 7) mounted spaced apart on a guide surface (3), each wall end having at least one upwardly oriented notch (10, 10) arranged to receive the shaft of each flange (9, 9); and a brake (13) which cooperates with and slows the rotation of the reel (2).
