METHOD AND DEVICE FOR THE OPTIMAL USE OF WINDABLE MATERIAL DURING WINDING UP AND/OR UNWINDING
A method and a device for optimal use of windable material during winding up onto and/or unwinding from storage drums operates in conjunction with feeding to winding machines. The windable material can be a textile web, a fabric web, a wire or the like. A counterforce necessary for keeping the tension force acting on the windable material constant is maintained until all of the windable material has been fed into subsequent processing. The counterforce may be maintained by a connecting element that is connected to the windable material and to the storage drum, is able to be wound up, and is of lower quality than the windable material. In the device, controllable means generate the counterforce counteracting the tension force until all of the windable material has been drawn into the subsequent processing device.
Conveying apparatus
A conveying apparatus according to an embodiment includes: a feeding-out member movable along a shaft member extending in a first direction and rotatable in a medium conveyance direction; a conveyance member configured to convey the medium from the feeding-out member along a medium conveyance route; a load applying member that applies a load in a direction opposed to the medium conveyance direction; a guide member placed at one end portion of the medium conveyance route in the first direction, and configured to restrict movement of the medium in the first direction; and an inclination member inclined with respect to the first direction and in contact with the medium between the feeding-out member and the conveyance member in the medium conveyance route, thereby making a conveyed distance of the medium shorter at a first side near the guide member than at a second side far from the guide member.

DELAY UNIT, UNROLLING DEVICE, CUTTING MACHINE AND METHOD FOR PROVIDING SEPARATING MATERIAL
A cutting machine that includes a knife and an unrolling device. The knife severs foodstuff slices from a foodstuff bar. A leaf from a separating material is provided between at least two foodstuff slices. The unrolling device providing the separating material for disposal of the leaf between the two foodstuff slices and injecting the leaf into the cutting region. The unrolling device has a tape roll and a delay unit. The delay unit along a transporting movement of the separating material is disposed downstream of the tape roll. The delay unit is configured for delaying the transporting movement of the separating material, which is unrolled from the unrolling device and is provided in a cutting region of a cutting machine. The delay unit has a pressure-generating means for exerting pressure on the separating material, and a suctioning means for suctioning the separating material by means of negative pressure.

Dynamic performance and active damping methods in web winder tension control systems
A control system for controlling operation of main and secondary drive units in a web winder system to provide tension control of a continuous material web is disclosed. The control system causes the main drive unit to operate in a velocity mode to set a linear velocity of the continuous material web. The control system receives inputs from tension and speed detectors in the web winder system that detect a tension and speed of the continuous material web and causes the secondary drive unit to operate in a modified torque regulated closed-loop tension control mode so as to control a tension in the web material, with the control system causing the secondary drive unit to operate according to a torque regulated closed-loop tension control mode and integrate a speed feedback loop into the torque regulated closed-loop tension control mode so as to introduce active damping into the tension control.
