The recording device has a recording section that records an image on a medium by ejecting liquid onto the medium; a supply section that supplies liquid to the recording section; a substrate unit; and a frame to which the substrate unit is attached, wherein the frame is located between the supply section and the substrate unit, and the substrate unit is attached to the frame so as to define a flow space through which air flows between the substrate unit and the frame.

Sheet stacking device

A sheet stacking device (77) is provided with a sheet discharge platform (76) on which image forming sheets (P), which have been subjected to heating and drying processing after images are formed using ink, are stacked; and a nozzle (162) that blows air to a side surface of a sheet bundle in a horizontal direction. Air is blown to the sheet bundle stacked on the sheet discharge platform (76) while the height of the sheet discharge platform (76) is adjusted by a sheet discharge platform raising and lowering device (100) so that a gap is formed between the sheets in the vertically middle portion of the sheet bundle. According to the sheet stacking device (77), a plurality of image forming sheets (P) can be efficiently cooled on the sheet discharge platform. Accordingly, the occurrence of blocking can be suppressed.

SHEET STACKING APPARATUS

A sheet stacking apparatus, including: a conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet; a stacking unit on which a sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit is stacked, the stacking unit inclined downward in a conveyance direction in which the conveyance unit conveys a sheet and including a first region and a second region located downstream of the first region in the conveyance direction; a guide portion configured to guide a sheet conveyed by the conveyance unit over a sheet placed on the second region; and a pressing portion configured to press a sheet placed on the second region.

A sheet flipping device includes a receiving member for receiving a sheet, a flipping volume being the volume which in operation is defined by the flipping movement of the sheet, and a flipping element for flipping the sheet around an axis of rotation within the flipping volume onto the receiving member. The sheet flipping device further includes an air vortex ring generator having an air vortex ring exit nozzle defining a translational direction of a generated air vortex ring when the generated vortex ring is in operation generated from the air vortex ring exit nozzle. The air vortex ring generator is mounted such that in operation the sheet is urged onto the receiving member by the air vortex ring during the flipping motion of the sheet through the flipping volume. A sheet stacking device and a printing apparatus include the sheet flipping device.

A sheet stacking apparatus includes a discharging portion including a nip portion nipping and conveying a sheet, a stacking portion on which the sheet discharged by the discharging portion is stacked, an air blowing unit configured to blow air toward a lower face of the sheet being discharged by the discharging portion, and an air volume control portion configured to control the air blowing unit such that a volume of the air blown by the air blowing unit is switched from a first air volume to a second air volume which is smaller than the first air volume while the nip portion of the discharging portion is nipping and conveying the sheet to set the volume of the air to the second air volume in a case where a trailing end of the sheet discharged by the discharging portion passes through the nip portion.

Sheet discharging device, image forming system, and sheet discharging method

A sheet discharging device includes a shift tray 202 on which a sheet P1 is stacked, a discharging roller 6 that discharges a sheet P2 onto the shift tray 202, a blowing device 230 that sends air to a lower surface of the sheet P2 discharged by the discharging roller 6, a blocking member 231 that blocks air sent to the lower surface of the sheet P2 from a blowing port 230-2 of the blowing device 230, and a control unit that controls the blocking amount of the blocking member 231. The blocking amount is determined based upon sheet information including sheet-type information, sheet-size information, and sheet-thickness information, for example.

Sheet ejecting device, image forming system, and sheet ejecting method

A sheet ejecting device includes: a sheet ejecting unit configured to eject a sheet; a stacking unit on which the sheet that is ejected by the ejecting unit is stacked; an aligning unit configured to align the sheet in a direction orthogonal to the direction in which the sheet is ejected; and a blowing unit configured to be provided to the aligning unit and blow a wind toward the ejected sheet.

Post-processing device that controls timing that air blower forms air layer between upper face of first recording sheet and lower face of second recording sheet, and image forming system

A postprocessing device includes a processing tray, a sheet processor, an air blower, an inlet roller pair, and a drive controller. The air blower forms an air layer between an upper face of a first recording sheet already placed on a loading surface of the processing tray, and a lower face of a second recording sheet to be newly placed on the processing tray, by sending air along a transport direction of the recording sheet, from an upstream side in the transport direction toward the loading surface. The drive controller performs an air sending operation, by causing the air blower to send air along the transport direction, before a second recording sheet contacts the upper face of the first recording sheet, and stop sending air before a trailing edge of the second recording sheet in the transport direction passes a nip region defined by the inlet roller pair.

Postprocessing device that forms air layer between upper face of sheets already stacked on processing tray and lower face of sheet newly placed on processing tray, and image forming system

A postprocessing device is attached to an image forming apparatus. The postprocessing device includes a processing tray, a sheet processor, and a fan. The processing tray is for stacking thereon sheets on which an image has been formed and which is transported from the image forming apparatus. The sheet processor performs predetermined postprocessing on the sheets stacked on the processing tray. The fan forms an air layer between an upper face of the sheets already stacked on the stacking surface of the processing tray and a lower face of a sheet newly placed on the processing tray, by emitting air in a transport direction of the sheet, from an upstream side in the transport direction toward the stacking surface.
