Front end conveyor with chad wall
A front end conveyor includes a frame having a first side and a second side, a lower deck and an upper deck. The lower deck includes a plurality of sheet supports, and upper portions of the sheet supports lie in a first plane. The upper deck includes a plurality of sheet guides that define with the sheet supports a sheet transport path through the front end conveyor. A chad wall extends transversely to the sheet transport direction and has a top edge located below the sheet transport path and a front surface facing in the upstream direction and a plurality of fingers projecting from the front surface in the upstream direction. The top edge of the chad wall is positioned relative to the sheet transport path such that hanging chads depending from the sheets will impact the chad wall.
Apparatus and Method for Producing Stacks of Partially Overlapping Labels and Roll of Partially Overlapping Labels
A roll of labels, each of the labels having a label side and an adhesive side, the roll comprising a stack of partially overlapping labels winded around a core structure. The label side of the first label of the stack, closest to the core structure, is on top of the stack. The roll also comprises a liner provided under a non-overlapping portion on the adhesive side of the partially overlapping labels. A method, and an apparatus, for stacking labels comprising conveying a plurality of individual labels at a first speed and transferring each of the plurality of individual labels to form a stack of labels running at a second speed lower than the first speed, thereby causing the transferred labels to be stacked in a partially overlapping configuration.
ADJUSTABLE SHINGLE TO FACILITATE STACKING
A system for conveying blanks to a stacker creates a big enough time gap between a last blank of a current stack and the first blank of the next stack to allow the stacker to discharge the current stack without interrupting the feed of new sheets for the next stack.
Front end conveyor having integrated transverse scrap conveyor
A front end conveyor includes a frame having a first side and a second side, a lower deck and an upper deck. The lower deck includes a plurality of sheet supports, and upper portions of the sheet supports lie in a first plane. The upper deck includes a plurality of sheet guides, and the plurality of sheet supports and the plurality of sheet guides define therebetween a sheet transport path for moving sheets in a sheet transport direction toward the downstream end of the front end conveyor. A transverse scrap conveyor is mounted below the lower deck to carry scrap in a direction perpendicular to the sheet transport direction. The transverse scrap conveyor is secured to and supported by the frame such that the transverse scrap conveyor is movable with the frame as a unit.
ADVANCEMENT UNIT OF SHEETS OF PAPER IN A MACHINE FOR PAPER CONVERTING AND RELATED ADVANCEMENT METHOD
An advancement unit (1) for causing a plurality of sheets (5) of paper, or any other material permeable to air, to move along a predetermined advancing direction (101) in a machine for paper converting, comprises a cutting group (10) which divides a web (4) made of paper, or another material permeable to air, into the sheets (5). The advancement unit (1), furthermore, provides a transfer roll (20) positioned downstream del cutting group (10), having an external surface (25) and adapted to rotate at a first predetermined angular velocity (1) about a longitudinal rotation axis (120) and to hold, alternately, on a first and on a second predetermined portion (26, 27) of the external surface (25) the head edge (5a) and the tail edge (5b) of the sheets (5) coming from the cutting group (10). A displacement group (30) is, furthermore, positioned downstream of the transfer roll (20) to move a plurality of catching members (35) along a movement trajectory (130) comprising at least one curvilinear portion (131) and at least one straight portion (132) to move the sheets (5) in a partly overlapped configuration along a predetermined advancement trajectory (135).
SHINGLING DEVICE AND SHEET PRODUCTION LINE COMPRISING THE SHINGLING DEVICE
The shingling device comprises: a shingling conveyor, adapted to receive a stream of sheets aligned with one another and not overlapping; a braking device, positioned above the shingling conveyor and configured to slow down the sheets arriving to the shingling conveyor, and to partially overlap the incoming sheets in shingling fashion. The braking device comprises: a first set of braking wheels aligned with one another along a first rotation axis orthogonal to a feed direction of the sheets to the shingling conveyor; and a second set of braking wheels aligned with one another along a second rotation axis orthogonal to the feed direction of the sheets to the shingling conveyor.
Adjustable shingle to facilitate stacking
A system for conveying blanks to a stacker creates a big enough time gap between a last blank of a current stack and the first blank of the next stack to allow the stacker to discharge the current stack without interrupting the feed of new sheets for the next stack.
