Disclosed herein are protective packaging stock material units that are used in a dunnage system. A dunnage system includes a dunnage conversion machine and a supply station. The supply station is configured to receive fanfold stock material and manipulate the fanfold stock material into being withdrawn from the supply station in a non-planar configuration. The supply station is associated with the dunnage conversion machine such that the dunnage conversion machine operably draws fanfold stock material from the top of a stack of fanfold stock material.

DEVICE FOR MANUFACTURING TAPE WITH TEAR CUTS

A slitter device comprising a circular blade at an outer periphery of the slitter device. One or more row of transverse blades at the outer periphery and on a side of the circular blade, the blades of the row of transverse blades being oriented transversely relative to the circular blade.

Controls for paper, sheet, and box manufacturing systems

Systems for providing efficient manufacturing of sheet or box structures, corrugate sheets, or other products of varying size and structure often with pre-applied print (pre-print) are provided herein. The systems include various features and modules that enable automated control of the corrugator, including the knives, slitters, scorers and cut-to-mark detection system(s), are contemplated. Colored markings may be used to indicate an order change section between two order sections of a roll plan for the manufacturing process. The colored markings are detected as the corrugator runs and, once detected, a controller determines a next set of order instructionse.g., to match the upcoming order. Thus, an order change may occur, thereby enabling automated control of the corrugator based on the new order instructions. Computer readable markings may enable checking of the actual position in the roll plan to an intended position, enabling stopping or changing of the corrugator operation if needed.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a printing unit; a first conveyance unit configured to convey a sheet to the printing unit while nipping the sheet; a second conveyance unit provided on a downstream side of the first conveyance unit in a conveyance direction of the sheet, and configured to convey the sheet while nipping the sheet; a third conveyance unit provided on a downstream side of the second conveyance unit in the conveyance direction, and configured to convey the sheet while nipping the sheet; and a switching unit configured to switch between a nip state of the second conveyance unit and a released state in which the nip state is released. When the sheet is conveyed by the third conveyance unit, the switching unit switches between the nip state and the released state in accordance with a length of the sheet.

Dunnage cut-assist biasing member

A conversion apparatus is provided herein. The conversion apparatus includes a cutting member having an edge configured for cutting the dunnage material. The conversion apparatus also includes a biasing member that is located adjacent to the cutting member such that the dunnage material passes between the biasing member and the cutting member. The biasing member operably contacts the dunnage material thereby biasing the dunnage material against the cutting member. The position of the biasing member relative to the cutting member is such that in response to the dunnage material being retracted back into the conversion apparatus the cutting member begins to sever the dunnage material, but in response to the dunnage material traveling in the dispensing direction the cutting member does not begin to sever the dunnage material due to the relative position.

BRUSH ROLL

A brush roll configured to support a material web, in particular a web of corrugated board, comprises a roll core and arcuate shells, which are each arranged on the roll core and comprise bristles arranged on the outside. The brush roll further has fastening assemblies configured to fasten the arcuate shells to the roll core. Each of the fastening assemblies has a fastening body, which is locally fastened to the roll core, which locally fastens at least one of the arcuate shells to the roll core, which has a foot part, connected to the roll core, with a bottom, and a head part, connected to the foot part, with a lower side facing the roll core, said lower side forming at least one lower wedge face for engagement with at least one of the arcuate shells.

Apparatus and Tab-Forming Process for Adhesive Backed Products

The present invention relates to apparatuses and processes for forming tabs on adhesive backed products. Specifically, the apparatus of the present invention provides a sequential series of mechanisms to form a tab on an adhesive-backed product, such as adhesive tape, so that the same may be easy to remove from an article at a later date. More specifically, the apparatus of the present invention provides a sequential series of mechanisms to form a tab that is formed solely of the adhesive-backed product itself, which may be utilized for the subsequent removal thereof after placement on an article.

TAPE APPLICATOR PRESSURE CONTROL
