Drive shaft for reusable paper core
A driveshaft for a reusable paper core includes a shaft body having a proximal end, a distal end, and a medial portion extending between the proximal end and the distal end. An outer periphery of the medial portion has a non-circular cross-sectional shape. The driveshaft includes one or more receptacles provided in an outer surface of the medial portion of the shaft body, a first bearing coupled with the distal end, a second bearing coupled with the proximal end, and one or more gear keys coupled with the proximal end. The one or more gear keys may be configured to transfer force from a rotating machine element to the driveshaft.
Plastic cap for a cable spool
A cap to be used with a plastic cable spool, said cap including a back side adapted to be arranged towards a barrel of a plastic cable spool and a front side adapted to be directed away from a barrel of a plastic cable spool, wherein said cap has a through-hole adapted to be aligned with a center axis of a cable spool, wherein said through-hole is at least partly surrounded by an inner wall on the back side of said cap, wherein said cap is provided with an outer wall extending around at least a part of said outer circumference of said cap, on the back side of said cap, and wherein said back side of said cap is provided with at least four reinforcement ribs extending between said outer wall and said inner wall. A cable spool being provided with such a cap.
STAND FOR SELF CONTAINED CARTRIDGE AND METHOD FOR MANUALLY DISPENSING AN EXPANDABLE CUSHIONING WRAP
An unpowered, manually operable apparatus for dispensing cushioning wrap material drawn concurrently from a roll of separator material and a self-contained cartridge that includes a roll of expandable sheet material. The rolls are supported on a stand for rotation about respective parallel, spaced-apart axes. In addition to the roll, the cartridge includes a tensioning assembly and support panels that abut respective ends of the roll. The tensioning assembly and the support panels cooperate with the stand to control rotational resistance of the roll. The rotational resistance causes the expandable sheet material to expand in length and thickness as it is manually pulled from the stand with the separator material, and support surfaces on the stand hold the cartridge and the separator roll in position. When the cartridge containing the expandable sheet material is depleted, the cartridge is readily removed and replaced.
Material handling device
An apparatus for retaining a utility reel on a horizontal shaft, said apparatus comprising a first rotational collar and a second rotational collar configured to be attached to the horizontal shaft on either side of the utility spool. The apparatus is held in place by set screws, the set screws typically being such that they cannot be removed without grinding or cutting so as to not vibrate loose while transporting said reel.
REEL ADAPTER
An adapter for readily changing out and mounting cable reels having a central opening in a transport device, such as a dolly, includes a pair of male portions, each having a body having a projection extending therefrom. The projections have at least one high spot. A pair of female portions are configured for mating with the male portions and have at least one recess for receiving the male portions' projections. A pair of fasteners secure the respective male and female portions to each other. An axle extends between the male or female portions, through the reel central opening and the male or female portions are positioned on ends of the axle. The reel with the axle and the male or female portions is positioned in the reel trolley, with the male or female portions mated with the others of the male or female portions and the fasteners are installed between the respective male and female portions to secure the reel in the trolley.
REFILL FOR A DISPENSER, BEARING UNIT AND DISPENSER
Refill for a dispenser, with a material web wound to form a roll and at least one substantially axially adjustable bearing journal. The at least one substantially axially adjustable bearing journal is adjustable substantially axially outwards away from the roll starting from a defined inner end position in which it protrudes axially beyond the roll. A bearing unit for such a refill, and a dispenser for housing the refill and dispensing the material web are also provided.
ROLLED WEB MATERIAL DISPENSER MATERIAL LOCKOUT SYSTEMS
A lockout system that is configured to limit use of a rolled web material dispenser assembly to dispense only authorized rolls of web material. The lockout system includes respective first and second mating registration elements that removeably cooperate with one another and provide a rotational cooperation therebetween when engaged with one another. One of the registration elements is associated with each authorized roll of web material and the mating registration element is associated with the rolled web material dispenser assembly. The first registration element defines an insert engaged with a bore of discrete authorized rolls of web material. The corresponding and mating second registration element defines a hub that is supported by the roll dispenser. Mating of the first and second registration elements provides a rotatable linkage that facilitates rotation of the roll relative to the dispenser assembly during the dispense activity.
Protective insert
A protective insert for protecting e.g. coils or rolls of sheet steel or aluminum is disclosed. The protective insert is open and diametrically adjustable. The ends of the protective insert may be adjustably engaged by means of engagement means. The engagement means permit diametrical adjustment and locking of the diameter of the protective insert to a suitable diameter. A method of protecting a portion of an object, in particular a roll of sheet material, having a hollow core, is also disclosed.
Flange stand and adapter for flanges
A flange for use on a reel, a flange adapter, and a flange stand are provided. The flange may include an outer circumference, a hub assembly, and an arbor hole adapter that is adapted to engage an arbor hole to secure the flange to the reel. The arbor hole adapter may include an expandable portion that is movable between an extended position and a retracted position. First and second expansion plates may be coupled to the arbor hole adapter and connected by shoulder bolts that guide movement of the plates between an abutting configuration and a spaced-apart configuration, allowing movement of the expandable portion relative to the reel for modified engagement. The flange stand may include a base, a support portion, and a coupler for engaging a central extension of the flange to allow the flange to be supported in an upright position.
DEVICES FOR CABLE MANAGEMENT
The present disclosure describes a cable reel. The cable reel may include a hollow core having a width; a first wall coupled to an end of the core and extending radially outward a distance from the core, the first wall comprising an opening aligned with the hollow core and at least one support member extending across the opening; and a second wall coupled to an opposing end of the core and extending radially outwardly a distance from the core, the second wall comprising an opening aligned with the hollow core; wherein the first wall and the second wall form a gap therebetween equal to the width of the core, the gap being configured to hold a length of excess cable wrapped around the core. Cable reel covers are also described.
