Apparatus and method for packaging wire or cable in a barrel or drum container
An apparatus for the accumulation of wire or cable, the apparatus including a collapsible reel assembly, the collapsible reel assembly including a central hollow arbor, a fixed inner support structure axially centered on and rigidly attached to the central hollow arbor, wherein the fixed inner support has a first end and a second end, a fixed flange, axially centered on and attached to the first end of the fixed inner support structure, a removable flange, axially centered on and removably attached to the second end of the fixed inner support structure opposite the fixed flange and an inner drum assembly. The inner drum assembly including a plurality of moving inner support structures movably attached to the fixed inner support structure and a plurality of inwardly-collapsible drum segments. Wherein the inwardly-collapsible drum segments collapse inward after the removable flange is removed from the collapsible reel assembly.
CABLE SPOOL AND STORAGE
Systems and methods of dispensing telecommunications cable from a network component are provided. A system includes a housing, an axle, and a spool. The housing defines an interior region and includes a cable storage portion and a mounting surface defining a receptacle. The axle is configured to removably attach to the receptacle. The spool is configured to be disposed on the axle, and has a first flange proximal to the mounting surface and a removable second flange distal to the mounting surface when the spool is disposed on the axle. The spool has a drum portion configured to support a coiled fiber optic cable and dispense the fiber optic cable as the spool rotates on the axle. Undispensed cable can be removed from the spool with the second flange removed. The cable storage portion of the housing is configured to receive the undispensed coil.
Adjustable spooling apparatus
An adjustable spooling apparatus for storing and unwinding a cable formed into a coil and having a coil diameter, the adjustable spooling apparatus comprising a central hub, a pair of adjustable arms movably engaged with the central hub, and a rotating handle. The adjustable arms each have a coil retention member, and can be selectively extended or retracted to increase or decrease a retention member distance measured between the coil retention members of the two adjustable arms to match the coil diameter. The rotating handle is attached to the central hub, and allows the adjustable spooling apparatus to rotate when the cable is pulled to facilitate unwinding of the coil. The adjustable spooling apparatus further comprises a pair of pivoting arms to prevent the coil from being dislodged, and an engagement point for a power tool to facilitate rapid winding of the cable by rotating the adjustable spooling apparatus.
Fiber Optics Deploy Reel
An adjustable height optical fiber cable reel comprises a first piece having a first base plate and a first tab protruding from the first base plate, the first tab having a first opening and a second opening, a second piece having a second base plate and a second tab protruding from the second base plate, the second tab having a pin. The pin is configured to engage the first opening to lock the adjustable height reel at a first height, and to engage the second opening to lock the adjustable height reel at a second height. The adjustable height reel may also be coupled to a slack storage tray. Optical fiber enclosures may also be configured with adjustable height reels with optional slack storage trays.
Pipe coil deployment drum with independent paddle movement systems and methods
Techniques for implementing and/or operating a pipe deployment system that includes pipe deployment equipment, which facilitates deploying a pipe segment from a pipe coil, and a pipe drum, which includes a drum body around which the pipe coil is to be disposed. The pipe drum is to be disposed on the pipe deployment equipment and the drum body includes a drum core as well as a lower paddle assembly and an upper paddle assembly, which are slidably secured to the drum core. The pipe deployment system maintains the paddle assemblies in a retracted state to enable the drum body to be inserted into the pipe coil, extends the lower paddle assembly to a more extended state to facilitate raising the drum core, and retracts the lower paddle assembly to a less extended state and extends the upper paddle assembly to the less extended state to facilitate lifting the pipe coil.
REEL SYSTEM AND METHOD
A reel system that includes a drum that receives a coil of flexible pipe. A first flange that removably couples to a first side of the drum. A second flange that removably couples to a second side of the drum. The first flange and the second flange secure the coil of flexible pipe to the drum.
Coiler with accompanying attachments and bag
A bag on which a coiler may attach. A coiling device that allows for attachments to be affixed to it, whether or not the coiler is attached to a bag. Attachments comprising a brush clip comprising a quickdraw setter/remover, brush, and other useful items.
Extendable spool
An extendable spool is disclosed. The length of the extendable spool is able to continuously varied. The extendable spool accounts for length variances in flow lines by extending the flow line rather than redirecting the flow. Because the flow direction does not make any turns, erosion is minimized on both the extendable spool and downstream parts. The extendable spool is readily scalable from small diameters to large diameters. Because of this, it requires fewer lines and therefore less setup time to account for length differences between large diameter lines.
EXPANDABLE DRUM ASSEMBLY FOR DEPLOYING COILED PIPE AND METHOD OF USING SAME
A drum assembly includes a support bar, expandable spokes extending away from the support bar, drum segments mounted to the expandable spokes, support brackets disposed on the support bar, a primary mechanical actuator extending between the support brackets, and secondary mechanical actuators extending from the support brackets.
SLIDING LOCK FOR BREAK-DOWN SPOOL
A locking system for a spool comprising a barrel, a flange, and a sliding lock. The sliding lock has at least one rail that slidably engages with at least one barrel detent and at least one flange detent to prevent rotation of the flange on the barrel. The sliding lock comprises at least one arm with at least one catch. The at least one catch can be removably locked into at least one recess on the flange.
