OUTDOOR ROBOTIC DEVICE FOR ERADICATION OF TICKS
Disclosed herein are robotic devices which traverse a pre-defined coverage area in order to capture and eradicate ticks in the area. A vacuum mechanism provides a suction force for pulling ticks into the device through a frontal opening, after which the ticks are captured in a receptacle and crushed by a rotating arm. In certain embodiments, the devices include heat strips near the frontal opening of the device that mimic the human body temperature. Additionally, the device can include carbon dioxide emitters that pass carbon dioxide to the receptacle or through the frontal opening to increase attraction of ticks.
HUMIDITY TOLERANT CARBON DIOXIDE GENERATOR FOR ARTHROPOD TRAP AND METHOD OF USING SAME
The present invention provides a humidity tolerant CO.sub.2 generator that operates in combination with an arthropod trap. The CO.sub.2 generator comprises a means for controllably adding solid pellets to an aqueous acid solution, and optionally includes a sound-based counting system for counting the number of pellets dispensed from a feeder reservoir and into a reaction chamber. The invention also provides a method of using the same.
Apparatus and method for trapping flying insect pests
An apparatus for trapping flying insect pests, including: a device for diffusing in the surrounding ambient air a gaseous lure the composition of which is suitable for attracting the insects; a device for sucking a flow of surrounding ambient air containing the insects attracted by the diffused gaseous lure, an insect trap arranged with the suction device so the insects sucked by said device are retained in said trap.
Particles containing pheromones and production process
The present invention is directed towards microparticles consisting of a solid shell made of polymer, in particular an acrylic polymer, surrounding a core comprising a mixture of oil and wax and also pheromone. The present invention is also directed towards a production process and the use of an aqueous suspension of such microparticles containing pheromones comprising fatty chains, such as lepidopteran pheromones, and which are capable of releasing the pheromones in a sustained manner.
Smart mosquito trap
A system for luring pests including a pest detector and a pest lure. The pest detector may be adapted to generate a type detection signal having a value indicative of a type of a pest in proximity to the pest detector. The pest lure may be in electrical communication with the pest detector and adapted to activate responsive to the type detection signal.
Selective detection of bed bugs pheromones
A device, system, and method of controlling pests are disclosed. A pest control device includes a sensor having a sensor cell and a controller. A surface of the sensor cell is coated with an agent that reacts with a targeted biochemical analyte secreted by pests. The controller is coupled to the sensor and is configured to receive sensor data from the sensor cell indicative of a rate of change in sensor mass detected on the surface of the sensor cell, determine whether the rate of change in the sensor mass based on the received sensor data exceeds a predefined threshold rate, and transmit a pest detection alert notification to a server in response to a determination that the rate of change exceeds the predetermined threshold rate.
INSECT TRAP
Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide an insect trap for trapping insects, the insect trap comprising one or more serviceable parts, the insect trap being movable between a first configuration for trapping insects, and a second configuration for servicing of the one or more serviceable parts. The insect trap is arranged so that the position of the one or more serviceable parts in the first configuration differs from the position of the one or more serviceable parts in the second configuration.
Method and system for generating a dental implant surgical drill guide
A method and system for producing a dental implant surgical guide is disclosed. A patient-specific virtual model is generated using image data specific to a patient and virtual dental implants. The virtual model aligns the image data with the virtual dental implants using modeling software. A virtual mold is generated from the virtual model, and a physical mold is generated from the virtual mold. The physical mold is covered with a thermoplastic sheet via a thermoforming process. Excess thermoplastic material is trimmed off after the thermoforming process to produce a thermoformed piece. Metal tubes corresponding to each the virtual dental implants are placed onto the physical mold denoting the position, trajectory, and depth of the one or more virtual dental implants. A dental implant surgical guide that contains the thermoformed piece with the one or more tubes is produced.
COMPOSITION FOR DETECTION AND TREATMENT OF BED BUGS
The present disclosure provides for a composition and method for attracting bed bugs to a trap or to a location where an insecticide or pesticide is present, or to a trap or a location where a bed bug infestation can be detected. The present disclosure provides for a composition for attracting bed bugs that includes one or more of methyl diethanolamine (MDEA), monoethanolamine (MEA), diethanolamine (DEA), triethanolamine (TEA), and dimethyl trisulfide (DMTS); a carrier; and optionally one or more amides selected from oleamide, octanamide, nonanamide, and laurylamide; urea, biuret, or triuret; and one or more aliphatic fatty acids. The present disclosure further provides for a method for treating an article by applying the composition to the article, where the article comprises a device for trapping or detecting bed bugs or a device for treating a bed bug infestation.
Insect trap device and method of using
In an embodiment, as insect trap is disclosed including: a trap portion including an enclosure having an adhesive surface and a first opening, wherein the adhesive surface is at least partially contained within the enclosure and is configured to adhere to an insect; and a base portion including a lighting element and a mounting portion, wherein the lighting element is configured to provide light to the trap portion, and wherein the mounting portion is configured to communicate with and receive power from a power source; and a first heating element in communication with the power source, wherein the trap portion is configured to removably engage with the base portion and receive light from the base portion when engaged therewith, and wherein the first heating element provides heat to at least a portion of the trap when the trap is engaged.
