Composition to Promote Migration of Acarids
20200390077 · 2020-12-17 · ·

The current invention concerns an aqueous synergistic solution for promoting non-lethal migration of acarids from their habitat towards a carrier comprising an attractant for the attraction of acarids, wherein said attractant is limonene, one or more attraction enhancers chosen from the group citronellal, linalool, geranyl acetate, caryophyllene, caryophyllene oxide and/or neryl acetate, and an emulsifier, preferably polysorbate.

The current invention also concerns a method for attracting and holding acarids, comprising of the steps: providing a sheet having interstices sufficiently large and a thickness sufficiently large to hold acarids; and applying on said sheet the aqueous synergistic solution in a non-lethal dose per area. The synergistic solution promotes migration of acarids from their habitat into said sheet, after which the sheet can be disposed or the acarids removed therefrom.

Insect Bait Stakes

An ant bait stake is provided having two components including an outer housing and an inner bait pack or reservoir that is separate from the outer housing. The outer housing includes a bait pack compartment for receiving the bait pack, and a ground engaging member such as a stake. A break-away tab including a neck portion with a bait access channel therein extends outwardly of the housing, the tab being removable by the consumer without any tools or other devices to open the bait access channel when the ant bait stake is ready for use.

Insect Trapping
20200352151 · 2020-11-12 ·

The invention relates to an insect trapping device (100) comprising: a housing (110) having an opening (120) through which insects (I) can enter the housing; trapping means (130) for trapping insects within the housing; an attractant source (170) and regulating means for regulating a flow of an attractant (160) into the housing; propelling means (150) for evacuating at least a portion of the attractant from within the housing through the opening; control means communicatively coupled with the regulating means and propelling means; wherein the control means is configured to activate the propelling means once a threshold volume of attractant has accumulated within housing. Also disclosed is a method for of trapping insects. Advantageously, the present invention can effectively, consistently and quietly control the release of the attractant, where the attractant remains in the housing until the propelling means sends it through the opening, allowing the attractant to accumulate to a specified level in the housing and to be dispersed efficiently creating an effective lure for insects to follow into the traps.

Bedbug Trap With Carbon Dioxide Generator
20200352152 · 2020-11-12 ·

A bedbug trap that has a series of stacked containers. The top container holds a quantity of water, sugar and yeast, which generates carbon dioxide. The central container receives or supports the upper chamber, and includes a small heating pad to aid in the fermentation within upper chamber. A hose directs the generated carbon dioxide to the bottom chamber or holding tray. This chamber sits in a bowl that has a rough exterior and a smooth interior. Holes or a gap allows the carbon dioxide to escape into the room, which attracts the bedbugs. The assembled unit is large, to trap as many bedbugs as possible in the shortest amount of time. The water, sugar and yeast mixture serving as the generator are replenished as needed.

METHOD AND DEVICE TO TRAP ACARIDS
20200344991 · 2020-11-05 ·

Disclosed are compositions and methods for eliminating acarids, such as dust mites. The methods include contacting a sheet impregnated with an acarid attracting composition with an object containing acarids. Acarids enter the sheet, which can then be removed to eliminate the acarids. Also disclosed are to acarid attracting compositions and products and kits for attracting, trapping and eliminating acarids.

BED BUG TRAP

The present invention relates to a trap (10) for bed bugs (2) comprising an inner element (20) having an outer surface (24) delimited by a first base (22) and a first top (26), and an outer element (80) being hollow and having a second base (86) and a second top (88) delimiting an inner surface (84). The outer element is positioned around the inner element with the second top adjacent the first top and the second base adjacent the first base, whereby a tapering space (12), tapering towards the first top, is defined between the outer surface of the inner element and the inner surface of the outer element. The tapering space is accessible to bed bugs crawling on the outer surface of the inner element through a base opening defined between the outer surface of the inner element and the second base. An adhesive (6) is provided on at least part of the inner surface of the outer element for adhering to the dorsal side (4) of a bed bug crawling on the outer surface of the inner element. The invention further relates to a method of detecting and/or trapping bed bugs.

Surfaces coated with high viscosity index petroleum based gel and methods for use as a barrier to crawling insects

Means and methods for preventing crawling insects from infesting a site where food, water, or garbage is located. In particular, this relates to creating a non-poisonous barrier in the path of the insects by coating a surface with a layer of high viscosity index petroleum based gel (HVIP-gel). One embodiment is an insect deterrent cup that is comprised of an inverted (upside down) cup whose inner surface is coated with a layer of PetrolGel. The insect deterrent cup is positioned between the food site and the crawling insects, blocking their path. This prevents crawling insects from accessing the food, water, or garbage.
