In an embodiment, as insect trap is disclosed including: a trap portion including an enclosure having an adhesive surface and a first opening, wherein the adhesive surface is at least partially contained within the enclosure and is configured to adhere to an insect; and a base portion including a lighting element and a mounting portion, wherein the lighting element is configured to provide light to the trap portion, and wherein the mounting portion is configured to communicate with and receive power from a power source; and a first heating element in communication with the power source, wherein the trap portion is configured to removably engage with the base portion and receive light from the base portion when engaged therewith, and wherein the first heating element provides heat to at least a portion of the trap when the trap is engaged.

A first end region of the shade is adjacent to the outward-facing wall of the base such that the first end region of the shade overlaps at least a portion of the outward-facing wall of the base. The LED-facing surface that overlaps the base is spaced apart from the outward-facing wall of the base such that an opening is defined between the LED-facing surface of the shade and the outward-facing wall of the base. The opening extends from a first side edge of the base to a second side edge of the base.

A replaceable insert for an insect trapping device is provided. The insert has an upper end region, a lower end region, and a first longitudinal centerline extending from the upper end region to the lower end region. The insert has an elongate, substantially planar adhesive surface for trapping an insect and a substantially planar, elongate tab positioned in the lower end region of the insert and extending away from the elongate, substantially planar adhesive surface. The tab has a first side edge, and a second side edge, wherein the first side edge and the second side edge converge at a proximal end of the tab. The tab comprises a second longitudinal centerline that is laterally offset a distance of from about 11 mm to about 15 mm from the first longitudinal centerline. The insert is asymmetric about the first longitudinal centerline.

The adhesive surface engages a bottom portion of the front housing and extends from the bottom portion to a top portion of the front housing. An insect trap including a trap portion having a substantially planar surface, texts or graphics disposed on the substantially planar surface, and an adhesive disposed on the substantially planar surface and the texts or graphics. The texts or graphics are configured to produce alternating light/dark regions for attracting insects. The insect trap further includes a base portion directly connected to electrically conductive prongs. The base portion has a circuit board configured to receive power from the electronically conductive prongs, at least one LED light, and at least one slot configured to removably engage the trap portion and secure the trap portion in place during use. The LED light is disposed between at least one slot and the electrically conductive prongs. The trap portion removably engages the base portion and is mounted vertically on the base portion in front of the LED light.
