DOOR-ACTUATED FEED ROLL SEPARATOR FOR AN IMAGING DEVICE
An imaging device having a door-actuated feed roll separator mechanism. A pair of opposed panels of a frame of the imaging device are positioned parallel to a media path. A feed roll pair in the media path has a drive roll fixedly and rotatably mounted between the panels and a backup roll mounted to a pair of release assemblies that are slidably mounted to the panels. Biasing members bias the backup roll into contact with the drive roll forming a feed nip. A door pivotally mounted along a bottom end to the frame substantially covers the media path. A pair of tethers connect the pair of release assemblies to the door. With the door lowered, its weight applies a release force to the backup roll separating it from the drive roll to allow for easier removal of a media sheet jammed in the feed nip
Sheet conveying device and image forming apparatus including sheet conveying device
A sheet conveying device includes a first conveyance roller, a sheet conveyance path, a second conveyance roller, and a pair of bearing portions. The first conveyance roller is provided in an apparatus main body. The sheet conveyance path has a guide surface that guides a sheet member in a sheet conveyance direction. The second conveyance roller is rotatably attached to the guide surface via a shaft and abuts on the first conveyance roller by a predetermined pressing force. The bearing portions are provided on the guide surface and support the shaft. Each bearing portion includes a concave groove portion and a bush member. The concave groove portion is formed on the guide surface such that a groove depth direction is perpendicular to the guide surface. The bush member is attached to the concave groove portion so as to be slidable in the groove depth direction and support the shaft.
Door-actuated feed roll separator mechanism for an imaging device
An imaging device having a door-actuated feed roll separator mechanism. A pair of opposed panels of a frame of the imaging device are positioned parallel to a media path. A feed roll pair in the media path has a drive roll fixedly and rotatably mounted between the panels and a backup roll translateably mounted between the panels. A pair of cam followers are rotatably mounted to the backup roll. The backup roll is biased against the drive roll forming a feed nip. A door pivotally mounted along a bottom end to the frame substantially covers the media path. A pair of door-mounted, spring-biased actuators engage with the pair of cam followers. With the door lowered, the cam followers rotate with a camming surface thereon contacting the drive roll, translating the backup roll away from the drive roll and opening the feed nip to allow for removal of jammed media.
SHEET LOADING DEVICE
The rotational pin and the lock pin are laterally provided in the right and left first brackets that are fixed to the right and left side surfaces of the sheet loading tray respectively, and furthermore, the right and left second brackets are fixed to the right and left of the one side surfaces of the casing. When the sheet loading tray reaches the sheet loading position, the lock pin is made to enter the sheet loading tray lock groove formed on the right and left second brackets to thereby lock and hold the sheet loading tray at the sheet loading tray storage position, along with an action of rotating the sheet loading tray about the rotational pin fitting into the sheet loading tray support groove formed on the right and left second brackets from the sheet loading position to the sheet loading tray storage position.
Sheet guide mechanism and printing apparatus
While a cover moves to a closed position, a second engagement portion contacts a first engagement portion to displace the first engagement portion, and thus a guide portion moves to a guide position. While the cover moves from the closed position to a first open position, the second engagement portion and the first engagement portion are separated, and the guide portion moves from the guide position to an open position.
Paper sheet handling machine
A paper sheet handling machine 100 comprises an upper unit 10 having a paper sheet take-in apparatus 120 adapted for taking therein paper sheets, one by one, from the exterior, an upper transport mechanism 201a adapted for transporting the paper sheets taken in by the paper sheet take-in apparatus 120, one by one, and a recognition unit 220 adapted for recognizing each paper sheet transported by the upper transport mechanism 201a; a lower unit 20 located below the upper unit 10 and having a lower transport mechanism 201b provided to receive the paper sheets transferred from the upper transport mechanism 201a, one by one, and then further transport the transferred paper sheets, and a plurality of stacking units 106, each adapted for stacking therein the paper sheets transported by the lower transport mechanism 201b and sorted based on results obtained by the recognition unit 220. In this case, at least a part of a bottom portion of the upper unit 10 is opened. Additionally, a partition member 30 is provided between the upper unit 10 and the lower unit 20.
Conveyor
A conveyor includes: a supporting member which supports the first and second roller units to allow the first and second rollers to take one of a first conveyance position and a first retracted position; a movable member which is movable between a first position where the first roller and the second roller take the first conveyance position and a second position where the rollers take the first retracted position; a cover member which is switchable between a closed state where the cover member is a part of the conveyance passage and an open state where a part of the conveyance passage is open; and an interlocking mechanism which is configured to move the movable member to the second position when the cover member is in the open state and moves the movable member to the first position when the cover member is in the closed state.
SHEET FEEDING APPARATUS AND AN IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
Disclosed is a sheet feeding apparatus including: a tray unit provided rotatably with respect to an apparatus main body; a sheet stacking member which can be moved to a stand-by position for waiting for sheet feeding and a feeding position at which a sheet can be fed; a moving portion which abuts against the sheet stacking member from below and to move the sheet stacking member to the feeding position and the stand-by position, the moving portion being movable to a first position at which the moving portion locates the sheet stacking member at the stand-by position and to a second position at which the moving portion locates the sheet stacking member at the feeding position; and a restricting portion which restricts movement of the sheet stacking member by interfering with the moving portion located at the first position when the sheet stacking member moves.
Device for stream-feeding and placing sheets onto a stack
An apparatus for overlapping and stacking sheets, the apparatus has a housing defining a stacking area and a travel plane for the sheets, a conveyor for transporting the sheets through the housing in a travel direction along a travel plane, and an overlapping device in the housing upstream of the stacking area for producing an overlapping stream of the conveyed sheets. A brake in the overlapping device slows the conveyed sheets of the overlapping stream. Stacking elements include stops projecting upward in the stacking area and serving to position a stack formed by the conveyed sheets of the overlapping stream. A separate frame carrying the stacking elements in the stacking area above the travel plane or extending to above the supply travel plane is mounted in the housing of the apparatus so as to be movable horizontally downstream in the direction away from the overlapping device.
