20240391717 · 2024-11-28 ·

A medium conveying apparatus includes a housing in which a paper feeding port is provided, a paper feeding roller configured to convey paper through the paper feeding port, a drive shaft to which the paper feeding roller is attached, the drive shaft extending in a Y direction intersecting a conveying direction of the paper, and an elastic roller attached to the drive shaft and configured to prevent sound occurring on the inside of the housing from leaking to the outside of the housing through the paper feeding port. The elastic roller comes into contact with the paper conveyed by the paper feeding roller and removes electric charges of the paper.

Input handling for media processing devices

A media processing device includes: a hopper for supporting a stack of media units (e.g. cards), the hopper including (i) a gate wall configured to abut leading edges of the media units and (ii) an outlet defined at an end of the gate wall; a pick roller at the outlet for engaging an outer one of the media units in the stack and dispensing the outer media unit from the hopper to a media processing path; the gate wall including a flexible gate at the outlet, the flexible gate configured to deflect toward the media processing path responsive to the outer media unit being driven into the flexible gate by the pick roller, wherein the outer media unit deflects when passing by the flexible gate, permitting the outer media unit to be dispensed from the hopper.

PRINTER

A printer configured to form an image on roll paper includes a housing configured to house the roll paper and a first guide and a second guide coupled to the housing, the first guide and the second guide each being movable in a width direction of the roll paper, and the first guide being separated from the second guide in the width direction to hold the roll paper therebetween. The printer further includes a detection assembly configured to detect a position of the first guide and a position of the second guide and a controller configured to determine a width of the roll paper based on a detection result of the detection assembly.

Printer with Linerless Media Wrap Removal Mechanism and Associated Methods

A printer is disclosed that includes a platen roller assembly, a frame, and a drive assembly. The drive assembly is operatively coupled to a first mating structure at a proximal end of an axle of the platen roller assembly to automatically rotate the axle via the proximal end of the axle during a printing operation. The axle is manually rotated in situ via a second mating structure at a distal end during an operation to remove linerless media wrapped around the platen roller assembly.

Image Recording Apparatus

An apparatus is provided that may offer functionalities including printing, scanning and/or copying. The apparatus may include a manual sheet feeding tray disposed at the rear of the apparatus. The height of the sheet feeding tray might not exceed a height of the apparatus, allowing use of the apparatus in spaces having smaller depths. The apparatus may include a sheet guide configured to move in conjunction with the movement of the tray. In some arrangements, a surface of the sheet feeding tray may differ in height between lateral edges of the tray and a central portion. This difference may cause a sheet to be curved in a lateral direction, rendering the sheet more inflexible in a longitudinal direction. According to other aspects, a depressed portion of the tray may match a protrusion extending from the guide in shape such that the two portions may mate in a retracted position.

Sheet feeding device and image forming apparatus

A sheet feeding device includes a tray main body and a cover member. The tray main body has a first mount surface. The cover member is rotatably connected to an end of the tray main body on the side opposite to the sheet feeding side so that the cover member can move rotationally between a closed position where the cover member covers the first mount surface and an open position where the first mount surface is exposed, and has a second mount surface on which a sheet is mounted over the first mount surface when cover member is in the open position. The cover member includes an opening for sheet insertion which penetrates through from an upper surface to a bottom surface of the cover member so that a sheet can be inserted onto the first mount surface when the cover member is in the closed position.

SHEET PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM HAVING THE SAME

A sheet processing apparatus for processing a sheet includes a setting portion to which a sheet bundle is set from an outside of the apparatus, a conveying route in which a sheet is conveyed, a stack portion on which sheets conveyed from the conveying route are stacked, the stack portion being arranged at a different position of the setting portion, a binding unit which binds a sheet bundle set in the setting portion and a sheet bundle stacked in the stack portion, and a punching portion which forms a punch hole on a sheet, which is conveyed in the conveying route. The setting portion is arranged as being overlapped to the punching portion in a direction of intersecting with a conveying direction of a sheet conveyed in the conveying route.

Sheet conveyance device

A sheet conveyance device includes a sheet mount on which a standard-sized sheet is mountable; a first conveyor to bring in the sheet from the mount, convey the sheet through a reverse conveyance path such that the sheet passes through a specific operation position, and eject the sheet into a sheet ejection area outside the mount; and a second conveyor to bring in a hard sheet with a higher bending rigidity than the sheet from one end of a straight conveyance path along a plane passing through the specific position of the reverse path, and eject the hard sheet conveyed along the straight path from another end of the straight path at a sheet ejection area side. The mount includes a hard sheet ejection port to let through at least a leading edge portion of the hard sheet to be ejected from the second conveyor in a sheet ejection direction.

Printer including main body casing provided with recessed portion having depth not less than thickness of medium

A printer includes a main body casing, a supply portion, and a recessed portion. The main body casing has a first surface, a second surface opposite the first surface, and a third surface connecting the first and second surfaces. The main body casing can be placed on a flat surface with the first surface in contact with the flat surface. The supply portion and the recessed portion are provided at the first surface. Through the supply portion, a medium is supplied into the main body casing. The recessed portion is recessed toward the second surface a depth not less than the thickness of the medium. The recessed portion extends from the third surface to the supply portion in a first direction and extends in a second direction orthogonal to the first direction. The length of the recessed portion in the second direction is greater than the width of the medium.
