Before the driving roller transports the medium, the feeder pulls back the medium after the changer has changed the pressing force to a value that is smaller than the value of the pressing force set for transport of the medium.

A rotation axis of the roller does not coincide with a rotation axis of the first adjusting member. One end of the roller is rotatably mounted on the holder through the first adjusting member. The rotation axis of the first adjusting member does not coincide with the rotation axis of the roller, and therefore, rotation of the first adjusting member is capable of driving a corresponding end of the roller to rotate, thereby adjusting an extension direction of the roller.
