Composition for inhibition of insect host sensing

The present invention provide chemical modulators of insect olfactory receptors. In particular, compounds and compositions are provided that can inhibit host targeting functions in insects such as mosquitos. Method of employing such agents, and articles incorporating the same, are also provided.

PEST CONTROL AND DETECTION SYSTEM WITH CONDUCTIVE BAIT MATRIX

A pest control and/or detection system generally includes an electrically conductive bait matrix including at least one carrier material that is at least one of palatable, a phagostimulant and/or consumable and/or displaceable by pests, and a plurality of electrically conductive particles. The electrically conductive particles are substantially randomly interspersed throughout the at least one carrier material. The at least one carrier material includes a thermoplastic material and/or a resin.

Techniques for maintaining palatability of a bait material in a pest control device

A termite control bait container includes an upper end portion opposite a lower end portion. The bait container includes a chamber containing a termite bait. The lower end portion includes an air-trapping pocket below at least a portion of the bait to reduce intrusion of water through the lower end portion when installed in a selected orientation at least partially below ground.

INSECT LURE DEVICE AND METHOD FOR MAKING AN INSECT TRAP

An insect trap comprising a trap shell having a first open end opposite a second open end and defining a trap interior having a triangular prism shape; a hanger for suspending the trap shell from an object, wherein a portion of the hanger extends into the trap interior; and an insect lure device suspended within the trap interior, the insect lure device comprising a lure wafer and a flexible container enclosing the lure wafer, wherein the lure wafer comprises an insect attractant chemical incorporated in a solid substrate such that, in a first stage, the insect attractant chemical controllably evaporates to a gaseous state into the flexible container, and wherein the flexible container is gas-permeable such that, in a second stage, the insect attractant chemical in the gaseous state passes through the flexible container into the trap interior.

Sewer cleanout cap and related methods

Implementations of sewer cleanout caps may include a cap having a first side and the second side opposite the first side. The cap may be configured to be inserted into a sewer cleanout line with the second side facing an inside of the sewer cleanout line. Implementations of sewer cleanout caps may include a rod coupled to and extending from the second side of the cap. The rod may be configured to extend through and couple to a bait. Implementations of sewer cleanout caps may also include a bait retainer configured to couple to the rod and secure the rodenticide to the rod and a spacer coupled over the rod and configured to provide space between the rodenticide and the second side. A length of the rod extending from the second side may be adjustable.

Methods and compositions are provided for evaluating the insect resistance of an agent of interest. Specifically, a feeding apparatus is provided for evaluation of the insecticidal activity of an agent of interest in a liquid diet solution against a piercing or sucking insect. Further provided are methods for feeding a piercing or sucking insect a liquid diet having an agent of interest in order to evaluate the insecticidal activity of the agent.

ARTHROPOD TRAPPING APPARATUS AND METHOD
20190364871 · 2019-12-05 ·

An arthropod trap with an aerosol dispenser that is remotely controllable to dispense spray doses of an active ingredient such as a pheromone or other semiochemical. Images are captured of trapping media within the trap and are wirelessly communicated to a remote server or application. The dispenser is preferably upside down with the nozzle near the lower extremity of the inverted dispenser. An actuation mechanism controls the spray dose according to a schedule or according to individual sprays commands, each of which may be received wirelessly by the trap. Images of the trapping media may be used as feedback for verifying or modifying the metered dosing schedule.

DRIED ATTRACTIVE LURE AND KILL STATIONS FOR THE CONTROL OF AEDES AEGYPTI
20190345310 · 2019-11-14 · ·

An effective dried attractive toxic bait station that acts as a lure and kill device for Ae. aegypti and other mosquitoes. The bait station is a simulated refuge at least part of which is coated with a dried mixture of poison and sugar forming a dried toxic sugar-containing bait. The simulated refuge attracts Ae. aegypti and other mosquitoes to bait station and encourages them to land on the coated portion. Once a mosquito has landed, it detects the sugar in the dried mixture of sugar and poison and ingests some of it. Once ingested, the dried mixture of poison and sugar will eventually kill the mosquito.
