STALLING OPERATION OF IMAGING DEVICES

Examples of stalling of operation of imaging devices are described herein. In an example, the imaging device includes an input roller assembly to transport a medium in the imaging device and a line feed roller assembly disengagably coupled to the input roller assembly to selectively drive the input roller assembly. To stall the operation of the imaging device, a line feed shaft of the line feed roller assembly can be automatically disengaged from the input roller assembly to discontinue advance of the medium along a print path.

Transmission device

A transmission device includes a pickup roller assembly, a feeding roller assembly including a feeding shaft, a paper-out roller assembly including a paper-out shaft, a driving motor, a one-way drive gear module, a first transmission gear module, a second transmission gear module and a one-way clutch. The first transmission gear module includes a plurality of transmission gears disposed to two ends of the feeding shaft and two ends of the paper-out shaft. The second transmission gear module is engaged with one of the transmission gears mounted around one end of the feeding shaft. The one-way clutch disposed between the feeding shaft and the paper-out shaft, includes a first clutch gear, a second clutch gear, a third one-way clutch gear disposed between the first clutch gear and the second clutch gear, and a compression spring disposed to one end of the second clutch gear.

Sheet supply apparatus

A sheet supply apparatus detachably attached to an image forming apparatus is configured to receive a drive force from the image apparatus to supply sheet to the image forming apparatus. The sheet supply apparatus includes a sheet supply tray, a sheet supply roller, a first transmission mechanism configured to transmit a drive force from the image forming apparatus to the sheet supply roller, a second transmission mechanism including an output member and configured to transmit a drive force supplied from the image forming apparatus to the output member, a clutch mechanism configured to intermittently transmit a drive force from the image forming apparatus to the second transmission mechanism, a latch member pivotable between a restriction position and an allowance position, a change cam, a sector gear, a rotational force applying member, an engaging member, a first engagement portion, a second engagement portion, and an electromagnetic solenoid.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a first conveyance unit, a second conveyance unit, a drive source, and a drive transmission unit. When the first conveyance unit conveys a sheet in a second conveyance direction and the second conveyance unit does not convey the sheet, the drive transmission unit enters a second transmission state in such a manner that the first conveyance unit conveys the sheet at a first conveyance speed. The second conveyance unit conveys the sheet at a second conveyance speed higher than the first conveyance speed. From a contact state in which the sheet conveyed in the second conveyance direction is in contact with both the first conveyance unit and the second conveyance unit is caused, until the contact state is released, the drive transmission unit is kept in a non-transmission state.

The first controlling unit executes control such that, in a case that the second discharge tray is detached from the support unit while the first discharge roller and the second discharge roller are halted, the first discharge roller remains halted, and in a case that the second discharge tray is detached from the support unit while the first discharge roller and the second discharge roller are rotating, the first discharge roller is halted after the first discharge roller continues rotating until a sheet has been discharged toward the first discharge tray.

One embodiment provides a power transmission structure of a media separation unit, the power transmission structure including a pickup pulley and a feed pulley that are provided at positions spaced apart at both sides; a media separation belt configured to travel along the pickup pulley and the feed pulley, grip and convey media, and have a slope that changes due to contact with a bill press configured to support the media and move upward or downward at a lower side of the pickup pulley; a motor configured to provide a driving force for the media separation belt to rotate in one direction or the other direction; at least one relay gear configured to transmit the driving force of the motor; a swing arm configured to swing in both direction within a predetermined angle range in conjunction with rotation of the relay gear; a swing gear configured to be connected to the swing arm and rotate in conjunction with the rotation of the relay gear to transmit power for the swing arm to swing; and a clutch gear configured to intermittently be coupled to or released from the swing gear according to a swing direction of the swing arm and configured to transmit power to the pickup pulley through a connection belt, whose slope changes in conjunction with a change in the slope of the media separation belt.

The turning restriction member includes: an annular portion which is slidable on the outer circumferential surface of the support portion in a direction of rotation; and a protrusion portion which protrudes outward in a radial direction from the annular portion to be able to engage with the second gear. The protrusion portion has a shape such that the protrusion portion cannot pass through a gap between the second gear and the annular portion and is located, relative to the gap, on a downstream side in a direction of rotation of the second gear caused by the power of a motor.
