Brake device and method and device for unfolding a roller-up elongate hollow member
The invention relates to a brake device for producing a brake torque counter to a torque acting on a rotatably supported member, wherein the brake device has: at least one toothed brake ring which is mechanically actively connected to the rotatably supported or supportable member, a plurality of bending-resistant brake levers which each have at a first lever end at least one stop which engages in the tooth arrangement of the brake ring and which are each rotatably supported on a second lever end opposite the first lever end, wherein each brake lever is connected to a force element for applying a brake force in such a manner that, as a result of the brake force via the stop of the respective brake lever which is in engagement with the tooth arrangement of the brake ring, a brake torque is produced on the brake ring tangentially counter to the active direction of the torque in order to apply a brake torque to the rotatably supported or supportable member, wherein the brake levers are arranged with respect to the toothed brake ring in such a manner that, during a rollover of a brake lever, in which the stop of the respective brake lever engages in a subsequent tooth flank of the tooth arrangement, all remaining brake levers with their respective stops remain in engagement with their respective tooth flank of the tooth arrangement.
LEASH ASSEMBLY
A retractable leash assembly for a pet animal, such as a dog, is provided. The leash assembly includes a casing body with a handle attached to the body by an at least one hinge joint, a braking device, and a spool arrangement with an extendable lead line wound thereabout and configured attachable to the pet animals' collar or harness, wherein in the leash assembly the handle is configured to articulate about the joint with regard to the casing body, the articulation movement of the handle being triggered by the pulling force exerted on the lead line by the animal kept on the leash, and wherein, by virtue of the articulation movement the braking device actuates a braking action causing the lead line to reduce unwinding speed proportionally with an increase in the pulling force.
ROTATIONAL FRICTION BRAKE ACTUATED AND REGULATED BY ANGULAR ACCELERATION AND A FISHING REEL COMPRISING THE SAME
A rotational friction brake actuated and regulated by the rate of change of the angular speed is disclosed. The rotational friction brake includes a first body and a second body rotationally attached to the first body. The second body is arranged to rotate around a rotational center axis of the second body. An actuator arrangement is configured to move a second friction surface into frictional engagement with a first friction surface. The actuator arrangement includes an actuator arm pivotably attached to the second body in a pivot point that is eccentrically offset to the rotational center axis. The actuator arrangement has a radius of gyration (RG) longer than a distance from the pivot point to the rotational center axis. The actuator arrangement has an internal flexibility which allows its shape to depend on centrifugal forces. A fishing reel comprising such a rotational friction brake is also disclosed.
Loading apparatus and printer
A loading apparatus including a support surface facing forward and inclined vertically downward from a paper exit of a printer body and configured to come into contact with a first surface of a printed material, the first surface forming a vertically downward surface in the paper exit, a braking member provided near the paper exit and configured to come into contact with the first surface and to hold a part, whixh contacts therewith, of the printed material, and a stopper configured to come into contact with a downstream leading end of the printed material at a paper ejection direction in which the printed material is ejected. The stopper is configured to be located at a first position and a second position on the support surface, in which a distance between the second position and the paper exit is greater than a distance between the first position and the paper exit.
FRICTIONAL FEATURES FOR ROLLED SHEET PRODUCT DISPENSERS
Improvements to frictional features in rolled sheet product dispensers are provided herein. An example sheet product dispenser for enabling dispensing from a roll of sheet product is provided. The dispenser includes a moveable support portion for storing and rotating the roll of sheet product relative to a base portion. A loaded roll of sheet product is configured to rotate about a spindle during dispensing of the sheet product therefrom. The dispenser further includes a frictional feature attached to a movable support brake feature at a pivot point radially spaced apart from the spindle. The frictional feature is positioned to pivot about the pivot point toward the movable support brake feature when the roll of sheet product is loaded on the spindle such that the frictional feature applies a decreasing friction force on a side surface of the roll as the sheet product depletes.
SUPPORT SPINDLE ASSEMBLY FOR A ROLL
A support spindle assembly for rotatably supporting a coreless paper roll for dispensing, the support spindle assembly including a spindle base, a spindle element having a central longitudinal axis (X) and having first and second ends, the spindle element being attached to the spindle base at the first end and rotationally fixed in relation to the spindle base and a rotatable sleeve rotatably disposed about the spindle element, and rotatable in relation to the spindle base and to the spindle element. The support spindle assembly includes a resilient member disposed about the first end of the spindle element, which resilient member is arranged to cooperate with the spindle base and with the rotatable sleeve in order to provide the rotatable sleeve with a rotational resistance.
Roll paper printer
A printer is provided with a roll paper holding portion that holds roll paper without axially supporting the roll paper; a sheet conveying unit that conveys a sheet supplied from the roll paper; a printing unit that executes printing on the sheet; and a roll paper pressing unit that presses the roll paper held in the roll paper holding portion, wherein the roll paper pressing unit is provided with a pressing roller that presses the roll paper and rotates along with the sheet conveyance, and a rotation suppressing portion that suppresses the rotation of the pressing roller.
Adhesive tape applicator
Provided herein are applicators and methods for dispensing adhesive tape. Such adhesive tape applicators include a housing adapted to contain a roll of adhesive tape; a compressible tape hub attached to an inner surface of the housing and adapted to rotatably support the roll of adhesive tape; and an adhesive roller apparatus for applying the adhesive tape to a substrate. The compressibility of the compressible tape hub provides a means of braking and tearing the adhesive tape roll.
WIRE SPOOL ROTATION RESISTANCE ADJUSTERS AND WIRE FEED ASSEMBLIES HAVING ADJUSTABLE WIRE SPOOL ROTATION RESISTANCE
Example wire spool hub assemblies include: a spindle configured to hold a wire spool; a spool rotation resistor positioned on the spindle to resist rotation of the wire spool on the spindle; and a resistance adjuster configured to selectively apply two or more rotation resistances via the spool rotation resistor based on two or more discrete positions of the resistance adjuster.
