UNWINDER AND OPERATING METHOD FOR UNWINDING WEB MATERIALS FROM PARENT REELS
Method for unwinding web materials from two parent reels (1, 2), wherein a first parent reel (1) in a depletion phase is replaced by a second parent reel (2), wherein during said replacement a first and a second web material (N1, N2) are unwound from both parent reels, wherein before the completion of said replacement the first web material (N1) is joined to the second web material (N2) and then it is cut, wherein the joining of said web materials (N1, N2) is preceded by the insertion of the second web material in an area where the two web materials are joined, and during the step of inserting the second web material in said joining area the second web material is guided on a guide surface (41, 44) which guides it towards the joining area. In said insertion step, the second web material adheres pneumatically to guide surface.
Web winding device
The present invention provides an improved belted reel which is particularly well suited for the winding of soft, bulky tissue webs and overcomes the limitations of the prior art. The belted reel is capable of providing coordinated web tension and nip control by providing the winding parent roll with two nip pointsthe first nip formed between the winding roll and the second between the winding roll and a second support drum. Preferably the drum encircled by the endless belt lies above the second support drum and the first and second nip points lie in the same vertical plane.

A medium flattening method, when a medium is transported by being adhered to an adhesive layer which is on a surface of a transport belt, includes detecting a presence or absence of floating being generated in the medium on the transport belt using a sensor, executing a process for flattening to flatten the floating in the medium in the case where the floating exists, and transporting the medium, where the floating is eliminated using the process for the flattening, to a liquid discharge region of a liquid discharge section. The executing of the process for the flattening includes executing the process for the flattening with regard to the medium and liquid discharge with regard to the medium in parallel.
MEDIUM PROCESSING APPARATUS AND IMAGE FORMING SYSTEM INCORPORATING SAME
A medium processing apparatus includes a conveyor, a liquid applier, and a crimper. The conveyor conveys a medium in a conveyance direction. The liquid applier applies liquid to a liquid application position on the medium conveyed by the conveyor. The crimper presses and deforms the liquid application position on a plurality of media including the medium to bind the plurality of media. The liquid applier includes a liquid application rotator configured to rotate, in contact with the medium conveyed by the conveyor, about a pivot extending in a main scanning direction orthogonal to the conveyance direction of the medium and to a thickness direction of the medium, to apply the liquid to the medium.

An image forming apparatus includes: a belt conveyance device that corrects leaning of an endless belt member, the belt conveyance device being detachably attachable to an apparatus body of the image forming apparatus; a first guiding portion that supports a first guided portion provided in a frame member supporting rotatably a first roller on which the belt member is laid under tension and guides the belt conveyance device attached to or detached from the apparatus body; and a second guiding portion that supports a second guided portion provided in a steering unit supporting rotatably a second roller on which the belt member is laid under tension, releases the second guided portion at an attachment position of the belt conveyance device to the apparatus body, and guides the belt conveyance device attached to or detached from the apparatus body.

A recording apparatus includes a recording section capable of recording on a medium, a transport belt that is provided with adhesive capable of adhering with the medium and that is capable of transporting the medium, an ultrasonic sensor that transmits ultrasonic waves to the surface of the adhesive and that receives ultrasonic waves reflected from the surface, and a controller capable of determining the state of the surface based on the detection result of the ultrasonic sensor.

A media conveyor mechanism for a printing apparatus includes an endless conveyor belt (BT) conveying a medium (M) in a Y direction; a belt driving unit having a first roller and a second roller which are arranged at an interval in the Y direction and parallel to an X direction, on which the conveyor belt (BT) is wrapped, and at least one of which drives the conveyor belt (BT), the first roller being fixed at a predetermined position in the Y direction, and second roller being switchable between a movable state and a fixed state; and an applying unit which applies constant equal force to both ends of the second roller in the X direction in a Y direction.

A continuous body folding device includes a conveying part having a moving surface that moves while suctioning and holding a first region of a continuous body, the conveying part conveying the continuous body in the longitudinal direction thereof; a first folding reference part in which a first endless belt, which moves in a first circulatory pathway along a first virtual plane including the moving surface, moves along a first reference segment adjacent to a virtual line of the continuous body in the same direction at the same speed as the moving surface; and first guiding members that are disposed along the first reference segment, contact a second region of the continuous body, and fold the continuous body along the virtual line and move the second region toward the first region so that the angle formed by the first and second regions becomes smaller as the continuous body is conveyed downstream.

In the first configuration, a first end (14) of the unwinding system is vertical to the chute (10) and in the second configuration, the first end (14) is in an advanced position towards the cutting head (13).
