A device for handling notes of value includes first, second and third modules. The third module has a first guiding element and at least a second guiding element for guiding the notes of value. The first guiding element has at least a first magnet or a ferromagnetic material. The first magnet and a second magnet or the first magnet and the ferromagnetic material are arranged opposite to each other at least in an operating state, an attractive force acting between the first magnet and the second magnet or the first magnet and the ferromagnetic material.

Provided are a sheet feeding device and a printing apparatus that are capable of estimating the number of remaining sheets without errors. The sheet feeding device includes: a loading member on which sheets are loaded; a lift unit that moves the loading member up and down; a position detection unit that detects a lift-up position to which the loading member moves up; a sheet detection unit that detects that a sheet at an uppermost position of the sheets loaded on the loading member has moved up to a feeding position by an upward movement of the loading member; a feeding roller that feeds a sheet at the feeding position; and an estimation unit that estimates the number of remaining sheets loaded on the loading member, based on a combination of detection results of the sheet detection unit and the position detection unit.

An image forming apparatus, including: an image forming portion configured to form an image on a sheet; a pair of conveyance rotary members arranged downstream of the image forming portion in a sheet conveyance direction and configured to convey the sheet, on which the image is formed, by a conveyance nip; and a guide portion configured to guide the sheet to the conveyance nip, the guide portion including: a first guide member formed into a sheet shape and having a first stiffness and an abutment surface configured to abut the sheet; and a second guide member formed into a sheet shape and having a second stiffness higher than the first stiffness and arranged on a side opposite to the abutment surface of the first guide member, wherein a downstream edge of the first guide member is closer to the conveyance nip than a downstream edge of the second guide member.

A conveying apparatus includes: a rotation shaft; a conveying roller secured to the rotation shaft; a driven roller that cooperates with the conveying roller to convey a sheet at a nip position; a supporter supporting the rotation shaft rotatably; and a first guide and a second guide opposed to each other and defining a conveyance path guiding the sheet toward the nip position. The first guide and the second guide respectively have first and second guide surfaces defining the conveyance path. The first guide and the second guide respectively have first and second engaging portions engaged with the rotation shaft at positions different from a position of the supporter in the axial direction of the rotation shaft.

A rotary member support structure includes: a rotary member including a shaft; a bearing that rotatably supports the shaft of the rotary member; a pressing member that presses the bearing in one direction; and a support that supports the bearing such that the bearing is movable in a pressing direction of the pressing member. When the rotary member is not rotating, the bearing and the pressing member are in contact with each other such that the bearing is rotatable about the shaft.

A recycle box includes a box door and a box bottom housing. A recycle inlet is provided at a top of the box bottom housing. A guide elastic strip, a banknote guiding plate, an impeller and a banknote stacking plate are fixed inside the box bottom housing. The guide elastic strip and the banknote guiding plate are vertically and oppositely arranged, there is a gap between the guide elastic strip and the banknote guiding plate and the gap is a recycle passage. The banknote guiding plate is provided with a first stopper for placing the recycled media and an opening for flexible blades to pass through, and the recycled media are placed on the first stopper after passing through the recycle passage. The flexible blade conveys the recycled media onto the banknote stacking plate. The impeller has a small diameter and the recycle box has a reduced volume accordingly.

An image reading apparatus includes a document platen on which a document is to be stacked, a pressing sheet having flexibility, a conveyance unit provided in a base member, an open portion provided in the base member and rotatable in a first direction with respect to the base member to open at least a part of the conveyance path, and a rotation member rotatable in the first direction with respect to the base member. The pressing sheet presses the document against the document platen. The conveyance unit forms a conveyance path within which the document is to be conveyed. The reading unit reads the document conveyed by the conveyance unit. The open portion retains one end of the pressing sheet in a longitudinal direction. The rotation member retains the other end of the pressing sheet in the longitudinal direction.

A sheet conveying device includes a third pivoting guide member located between a first pivoting guide member on a side of fixed guide members and a second pivoting guide member on a side of an opening/closing member. In a state in which an upstream conveying path and a re-conveying path are formed, the first pivoting guide member pivots toward the third pivoting guide member to expand the upstream conveying path when pushed by a sheet conveyed from the upstream conveying path, and the third pivoting guide member pivots toward the first pivoting guide member to expand the re-conveying path when pushed by a sheet conveyed from the re-conveying path.

An image recording apparatus for recording an image on a sheet includes a recording section which records the image on the sheet in a transport passage for transporting the sheet in a transport direction and multiple plates which are spaced apart from each other in a widthwise direction. These multiple plates include a first type of plate and a second type of plate. Plates of a first type of plate are configured to overlap a sheet when viewed in a direction perpendicular to the transport direction and the widthwise direction, while plates of the second type of plate do not.
