PAPER INPUT MODULE FOR A PRINTING APPARATUS
A paper input module for use in a printing apparatus includes a substantially closed box for holding a stack of sheets of a print substrate; a duct in fluid connection with the closed box and arranged for transporting a sheet of the print substrate out of the paper input module; and a transport mechanism for engaging a sheet of the print substrate to exit the paper input module via the duct. A method for conditioning a stack of print substrates in such a paper input module is also disclosed.

A transportation portion includes an apparatus body, a cover, first and second path formation portions, and a movement portion. The apparatus body has a transportation path including a downward path and an upward path having portions located at the same level in the Z direction. The cover covers and uncovers the transportation path. The first path formation portion is movable to a first position and to a second position. The second path formation portion defines the upward path and defines the downward path with the first path formation portion. The movement portion moves the first path formation portion in response to opening or closing of the cover. The first path formation portion is positioned in a movement area during a closed state. The movement portion moves the first path formation portion to the second position when the cover is opened and to the first position when the cover is closed.
Sheet-type medium conveying device and cash recycling and handling apparatus
Disclosed are a sheet-type medium conveying device and a cash recycling and handling apparatus. The sheet-type medium conveying device includes a first passage plate, a second passage plate and a driving mechanism. The first passage plate and the second passage plate are oppositely arranged. A passage is formed between the first passage plate and the second passage plate, and configured for a sheet-type medium to pass through. The driving mechanism is configured to drive a first end of the first passage plate and a first end of the second passage plate to get close to or away from each other.
Edge sensing apparatus in automated transaction machine
A sensing apparatus can be configured to detect an edge of a paper that is received by an automated transaction machine (ATM). The paper can move along a path located inside the ATM, the path having opposite first and second sides. The sensing apparatus can include a light emitter and a light detector on the first side of the path, with the light emitter positioned so that it can emit light across the path to the second side. The light detector can be configured to detect light from the light emitter and can emit a signal corresponding to an amount of detected light. The sensing apparatus can also include a control circuit that can control a flow of power to the light emitter, and the control circuit can also receive the signal emitted by the sensor.
SHEET TRANSPORTATION DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet transportation device includes a first transport roller that transports a sheet member toward a first direction, a second transport roller that is arranged on a downstream side of the first transport roller in a transport direction of the sheet member and transports the sheet member in a second direction different from the first direction, and a guide portion that guides the sheet member by coming into contact with a leading end of the sheet member in a region on a second transport roller side with respect to a first line extending from a part of the first transport roller, in which the sheet member is pinched, in the first direction and on an opposite side to a first transport roller side with respect to a second line extending from a part of the second transport roller, in which the sheet member is pinched, in the second direction.
Medium-transport apparatus and medium-transport system
A medium-transport apparatus includes: an apparatus main body having the transport path for transporting the medium; and a cover CV provided on the side surface of the apparatus main body and configured to be switched between a first state of exposing the transport path and a second state of covering the transport path. The cover CV is divided into: a first cover that has the rotation shaft along a Z-axis and is rotatable with respect to the apparatus main body; and a second cover that is arranged on a −Z side of the first cover, has the rotation shaft along a Y-axis on the Z− side, and is rotatable with respect to the apparatus main body.

Sheet feeding apparatus and image forming apparatus
A sheet feeding apparatus includes an apparatus body, a drawer portion including a first contact portion, a feeding portion, and a pivot member configured to pivot between a first position and a second position, the pivot member constituting a part of a conveyance path at the first position, wherein the pivot member does not overlap a moving path of the drawer portion in a case where the pivot member is located at the first position, and overlaps the moving path in a case where the pivot member is located at the second position. The pivot member includes a second contact portion that pivots the pivot member from the second position toward the first position while being in sliding contact with the first contact portion in a case where the pivot member is located at the second position and the drawer portion is being inserted into the apparatus body.
Image forming apparatus
An image forming apparatus includes an image formation engine configured to form an image on a sheet, and a re-conveyer configured to convey the sheet having an image formed on one surface thereof by the image formation engine to the image formation engine again along a re-conveying path. The re-conveyer includes a conveying roller configured to convey the sheet in a re-conveying direction toward the image formation engine, a first guide member configured to be swingable between a first position at which the first guide member defines a portion of the re-conveying path upstream of the conveying roller in the re-conveying direction and guides the sheet to the conveying roller and a second position for exposing the potion of the re-conveying path, and a support member configured to swingably support the first guide member and rotatably support the conveying roller.
