Tire Configuration System For An Agricultural Machine
20190111447 · 2019-04-18 ·

An operator can interact with a user interface to input tire configuration information for a tires installed on an agricultural machine so that a control system of the machine can accurately apply information about the tires to display calculated parameters and/or control machine functions. In one aspect, the input could correspond to custom information for tires which the controller could use to derive tire dimensions, such as a rolling circumference of the tire, for calculating parameters. In another aspect, the input could correspond to a selection among several predetermined tire configurations. The controller can then apply the tire dimension to calculate one or more parameters, such as speed and/or distance traveled, for display, and/or to control various machine functions, such as an agricultural product application rate, steering, driveline and/or suspension control.

A spray boom includes a body having a length defined a first end and a second end thereof. The body is formed by a plurality of layers of composite material adapted to be molded together to form an inner surface and an outer surface. A hollow cavity is defined in the body internally of the inner surface, and a channel is formed in the body between the inner surface and the outer surface. The channel extends along the length and is defined between the first end and the second end.

System and method for real-time monitoring of above-ground height of boom based on multi-source information fusion

The present invention provides a system and method for real-time monitoring of an above-ground height of a boom based on multi-source information fusion. The system includes a boom, an information acquisition unit, and a control unit. The method includes: step 1: establishing a relationship between an above-ground height s of the boom and an output current y of a pull-wire cylinder displacement sensor; step 2: calibrating ultrasonic ranging sensors; step 3: acquiring above-ground heights of the boom; step 4: performing anti-interference processing on the acquired height data; step 5: calculating an above-ground height H.sub.0 of the boom by multi-source data fusion; step 6: calculating a distance H.sub.canno between the boom and a crop canopy; step 7: acquiring an inclination angle ?.sub.b of the boom; and step 8: calculating heights H.sub.end of two ends of the boom relative to ground.

An electromagnetic breakaway system having a boom assembly, including a frame including a first portion and a second portion hingably coupled to the first portion; and a hinge assembly hingably coupling the first and second portions, the hinge assembly includes first and second electromagnets coupled respectively to the first and second portions, the first and second electromagnets comprising a same charge polarity when the first and second portions form an angle within a first pivot range, the first and second electromagnets comprising a different charge polarity when the first and second portions form an angle within a second pivot range.

Breakaway adapter system facilitating both front-mounted and rear-mounted configurations of a sprayer boom

A breakaway adapter system is provided that allows the same breakaway joints and breakaway boom segments to be used with either front-mounted or rear-mounted booms. The adapter system may have a multi-piece construction with a secondary boom segment end cap that can be reconfigured to receive either a left-side hinged or right-side hinged adapter hinge bracket or hinge plate. This allows a main boom body to be reversed for switching between front-mounted and rear-mounted configurations by rotating the main boom body 180-degrees while retaining breakaway joints and breakaway boom segments in rearward deflecting positions.

Positioning system for a sprayer boom

A positioning system, for a boom having right and left boom arms, comprises: a first actuator for moving the right boom arm relative to a support frame; a second actuator for moving the left boom arm relative to a support frame; a first hydraulic link between the first and second actuators; and a hydraulic control device for controlling movement of hydraulic fluid within the first hydraulic link, thereby controlling extension and/or retraction of the first and second actuators.

Autonomous or remote-controlled vehicle platform for spraying

A vehicle platform comprises a central body that can support one or more implement configurations, such as sprayer booms, or planting row units. A plurality of adjustable legs extends downward from the central body. An arm assembly has a first end and a second end opposite the first end. The first end is pivotably coupled the central body and the second end coupled to a support beam. A plurality of nozzle assemblies is supported from the support beam. An arm actuator is arranged to control a transverse position of the support beam and the nozzle assemblies with respect to a reference point on the central body, such that each nozzle assembly may be aligned with a row of seeds or plants.

Planar linkage, methods of decoupling, mitigating shock and resonance, and controlling agricultural spray booms mounted on ground vehicles

The current invention discloses several methodologies that mitigate shock loading and propensity to resonance in agricultural spray boom structures. These include a near planar linkage for decoupling the boom assembly from the vehicle. This serves to permit further aspects of the invention to: Use the combined mass of the booms and center section as the tuned mass of a tuned mass damper: Act as an enabling part of a boom compliant suspension system to mitigate shock loadings otherwise imposed on the boom system, and: Act as an enabling part of an active boom height and roll control systems to permit the accurate navigation of the boom over undulating terrain. Further aspects include the incorporation of tuned mass dampers in the boom structure and components; and the use of the mass and operation of the boom outboard breakaway sections as tuned mass dampers.
