System and method for monitoring agricultural fluid deposition rate during a spraying operation

A system for monitoring the operation of an agricultural sprayer includes a computing system is configured to determine a movement parameter associated with the movement of a boom assembly of the agricultural sprayer relative to a frame of the agricultural sprayer based on data captured by a movement sensor. Furthermore, the computing system is configured to determine the distance between a spray nozzle of the agricultural sprayer and the underlying crop canopy or field surface based on data captured by a position sensor. Additionally, the computing system is configured to determine a spray deposition parameter indicative of a rate at which agricultural fluid is deposited on the underlying crop canopy or field surface based on the determined movement parameter and the determined distance.

AGRICULTURAL CROP APPLICATION SYSTEM

A product applicator system for dispensing various products onto a ground surface is provided. The system provides an assembly of a protective tube and applicator that protects the product as it travels from the boom to the ground surface. The assembly may include a swivel connection facilitating a rotational movement of the hose assembly to the supporting boom. The protective tube assembly is designed with bending properties that enable the applicator to self-center itself during use.

The boom support frame may comprise a first sub-frame connected to the primary frame; a second sub-frame supported by the first sub-frame in support sections provided on opposite sides of the pivot point in a transverse direction; and an actuator connected to the sub-frames and operable such that the support sections move relative to the pivot point to increase and decrease, in the transverse direction, a respective distance on opposite sides of the pivot point at the same time. Further, a method for controlling operation of a boom mounting assembly attached to an agricultural machine is provided.

The actuation system selectively transitions the folding spray implement: (i) from a stowed position in which axes of wing-to-wing fold joints extend principally in horizontal directions; (ii) through an intermediate unfolded position in which the axes of the wing-to-wing fold joints extend principally in vertical directions; and (iii) to a deployed position in which the axes of the wing-to-wing fold joints extend principally in horizontal directions.
