A sheet cassette includes a housing, multiple cassettes stacked and provided in the housing, and a rotary cam. The cassettes store a recording sheet. The rotary cam includes multiple pins provided at opposite positions across the axis of rotation of the rotary cam. Adjacent cassettes are offset relative to each other in an offset direction. First receiving parts for receiving the pins are provided one in each of the adjacent cassettes at a first end thereof in the offset direction. The rotary cam rotates with at least one of the pins being in at least one of the first receiving parts of the adjacent cassettes to move the cassettes as connected.

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet container accommodating a recording medium therein, a sheet separating feeder including a sheet feeding body and a sheet separating body, an image forming part, and a bend applier. The sheet feeding body feeds the recording medium along with a surface movement thereof while the recording medium contacting the surface thereof. The sheet separating body forms a sheet separation nip region with the sheet feeding body and sandwiches the recording medium in the sheet separation nip region. The sheet separating feeder separates and feeds the recording medium contacting the sheet feeding body. The image forming part forms an image on the recording medium. The bend applier having a leading end of an elastic material contacts and bends the recording medium before the sheet separation nip region and generates a wrinkle extending on the recording medium in a sheet conveying direction.

An image forming apparatus includes a sheet container accommodating a recording medium therein, a sheet separating feeder including a sheet feeding body and a sheet separating body, an image forming part, and a bend applier. The sheet feeding body feeds the recording medium along with a surface movement thereof while the recording medium contacting the surface thereof. The sheet separating body forms a sheet separation nip region with the sheet feeding body and sandwiches the recording medium in the sheet separation nip region. The sheet separating feeder separates and feeds the recording medium contacting the sheet feeding body. The image forming part forms an image on the recording medium. A medium processing device including a storage cassette, a casing, a loading section, a slide rail, and a connector is provided. The storage cassette is configured to store a medium. The casing includes an internal space to house the storage cassette inside. The loading section supports the storage cassette when the storage cassette is in a loaded state in a loading space having an open bottom section. The slide rail is attached to the casing and to the loading section, and lets the loading section move between the internal space of the casing and outside. The connector is provided inside the loading space of the loading section, and electrically connects to the storage cassette in a loaded state of the storage cassette in the loading space.

PAPER SHEET STORING APPARATUS, PAPER SHEET HANDLING APPARATUS, AND PAPER SHEET FEEDING METHOD

In a paper sheet storing apparatus housed in a paper sheet handling apparatus, a storage part stores paper sheets. An ejection port ejects a paper sheet of the paper sheets stored in the storage part. A first roller is arranged near the ejection port, and is rotated in a predetermined direction by transmission of rotation caused by drive of a drive shaft so as to send out the paper sheet from the ejection port. A driven shaft is rotated in the predetermined direction following the rotation of the first roller. A second roller is arranged in a position farther from the ejection port than a first roller, and is rotated in the predetermined direction by transmission of rotation of the driven shaft so as to sequentially feed, to the first roller, the paper sheets from a paper sheet positioned in a lowest layer among the paper sheets.
