A medium receiving tray has a first tray and a second tray. A movable support having a second support surface for supporting media is disposed in the second tray. When the medium receiving tray is in a first state, the movable support is positioned above a first support surface of the first tray. When the medium receiving tray is switched from the first state to a second state, a free end is detached from the downstream end of the first support surface and displaced downward, and the second support surface is thereby inclined upward toward the downstream in a medium discharging direction.

A sheet feed device comprises a first conveyance path and a second conveyance path which are different sheet conveyance paths, and a conveyance path merging section for merging the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path together. At least one of the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path includes an upstream side roller that feeds sheet to downstream side in a conveyance direction. The conveyance path merging section comprises a conveyance roller pair that conveys the sheet fed from the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path through a nip; a variable mechanism that makes an arrangement angle of one roller of the conveyance roller pair to the other roller thereof variable; and a transmission mechanism that transmits a driving force from the upstream side roller provided in one of the first conveyance path and the second conveyance path to the variable mechanism.

A sheet feeding apparatus includes a sheet supporting portion configured to support a sheet, a feed rotary member configured to feed the sheet supported by the sheet supporting portion, a curved conveyance path through which the sheet fed by the feed rotary member passes and which is curved upward, an upper conveyance path disposed above the sheet supporting portion so as to pass through a sheet and configured to join with the curved conveyance path, and a driven rotary member disposed inside of the curved conveyance path in a curved direction thereof and driven to rotate by the sheet passing though the curved conveyance path.

A medium accommodation cassette includes a first medium accommodation portion that forms a portion of a medium accommodation region and a second medium accommodation portion that forms a portion of the medium accommodation region and is configured to be switchable between a first state and a second state in which the second medium accommodation portion is displaced from a position thereof in the first state in a cassette removing direction so as to stretch the medium accommodation region. A step portion on a side surface, which is formed between the first medium accommodation portion and the second medium accommodation portion, is positioned inside an insertion/removal mouth when the second medium accommodation portion assumes the second state in the state in which the medium accommodation cassette is installed in the insertion/removal mouth.

Provided is an image forming system capable of reliably preventing others from removing and taking printed matter even though printing is executed beforehand. The confidential notation reading unit reads a confidential notation. The user storage tray has a structure from which outputted printed matter cannot be removed unless the opening/closing door is opened. The locking mechanism locks the opening/closing door. The sorting mechanism sorts the printed matter outputted from the image forming apparatus and outputs the printed matter to either the open tray or the user storage tray. The sorting control unit outputs printed matter to which a confidential notation is not added to the open tray, and outputs a printed matter to which a confidential notation is added to the user storage tray, respectively.
RECORDING APPARATUS
A recording apparatus includes: a housing; a recording section that performs a recording operation on a medium and is disposed inside the housing; a storage section that stores the medium; a transport route along which the medium is transported; a transport section that transports the medium; a reading section that reads an original sheet and is positioned higher than the recording section; a supply section that supplies the original sheet to the reading section; and a supply route through which the original sheet passes. Each of the supply and transport routes is formed at substantially right angles to a width of the housing. The transport route has a curved section in which the medium is turned over. The reading section is positioned behind the recording section in a depth direction from the front to rear surface of the housing.

A sheet feeding apparatus for feeding sheets is provided with a multi feed detecting section for detecting multi feed of conveyed sheets in a predetermined detection position of a conveyance path, and first and second discharge sections to which multi-fed sheets with the multi feed detected are discharged, and corresponding to one of a front end position of the multi-fed sheets at the time the multi feed detecting section detects the multi feed of sheets, a sheet storage state of the second discharge section, sheet storage states of the first and second discharge sections, a size of sheets and weighing, selects one of the first and second discharge sections to discharge the multi-fed sheets to the selected discharge section.
