Suction roller structure for an interleaving machine
Suction roller structure for the pneumatic transport of sheets inside an interfolding unit, comprising a suction source, an external roller (3) rotating with respect to the cylinder (1) and provided with longitudinal rows of bores (4) angularly spaced and selectively communicating with said internal cavity (2) during the angular rotation of the roller (3), a distribution of pneumatic valves (5) that are normally closed, inserted between said internal cavity (2) and at least one bore (4), cam means (6) operatively associated with the rotation of the roller (3) and arranged to open one or more of said valves (5) at one or more angular positions taken by the roller (3).
Medium transporting device and liquid jetting device
A medium transporting device and a liquid jetting device, which can suppress the lifting of both ends of a medium in a width direction of a medium and can suppress the occurrence of wrinkling of the medium, are provided. The medium transporting device includes a gripping unit that grips a leading end region of a medium, a medium supporting unit that has a first adsorption supporting unit which adsorbs and supports a trailing end region of the medium and a second adsorption supporting unit which adsorbs a non-end region of the medium and generates an adsorption pressure less than an adsorption pressure generated by the first adsorption supporting unit, a medium position moving unit that moves a position in a medium width direction in the medium width direction, and a medium transporting unit that transports the medium. Regarding the width direction, the first adsorption supporting unit has a length, which is obtained by adding a length twice a moving distance of the medium to a medium length, and a distance from a center position in the width direction to one end in the width direction is the same as a distance from the center position in the width direction to the other end in the width direction.
INNER PLENUM VACUUM ROLLER SYSTEM FOR A CUT SHEET PRINTER DRYER TRANSPORT
A vacuum roller system and a method of operating the vacuum roller system can include a group of vacuum rollers operable to move a sheet of media through a dryer. The vacuum rollers do not require a vacuum to be drawn between the vacuum rollers. Each vacuum roller can include a plenum operable to direct the vacuum to a top portion of the vacuum roller to drive the sheet of media from one roller to the next roller. The plenum can engage vacuum holes in a rotating vacuum roller when the vacuum holes in the vacuum roller are aligned with the plenum.
SUCTION ROLL OF A WEB, OR SHEET, OF PAPER IN A PAPER CONVERTING MACHINE
A suction roll of a web, or sheet, of paper, includes a tubular body that rotates about a longitudinal rotation axis. External and internal lateral surfaces of the suction roll pneumatically communicate with each other through suction holes. The roll includes a suction chamber pneumatically connected to a vacuum generation device for generating a predetermined vacuum degree. A vacuum distribution device selectively puts into pneumatic communication the suction chamber with at least one row of suction holes, at determined angular positions of the tubular body and causes the processed sheet or web of paper to be sucked, and to adhere at a corresponding portion of the external lateral surface arranged between a catching point and a releasing point having determined angular positions. A displacement device moves the vacuum distribution device to change the angular position of the catching or releasing point of the web or sheet of paper.
A ROLLER CONVEYING UNIT FOR CONVEYING A SHEET BY MEANS OF ASPIRATION
A conveying unit includes a rotatable roller having a first through-hole between the inside and the outside of the roller. A cylindrical member inside the roller has an opening and defines an annular chamber between the member and the roller. An insert borne by the roller inserted in the first through-hole thereof and contacting an external surface of the cylindrical member has a second through-hole in communication with the outside of the roller and extending through the first through-hole and the annular chamber. The first through-hole of the opening is configured such that, when the roller rotates, the insert transits at the opening, temporarily placing the outside of the roller in fluid communication with the annular chamber via the second through-hole, so that a sheet outside the roller and at the first through-hole is pulled against the roller by aspirating means and is conveyed.
A SYSTEM FOR HANDLING FLEXIBLE MATERIAL
A system for handling sheets of flexible material. The system comprises a first roller (5.2) which comprises a plurality of first releasable connectors (3.2) and a second roller (5.3) which comprises a plurality of second releasable connectors. The system further comprises an array of third releasable connectors (2.1) which is displaceable between at least the first and second rollers (5.2, 5.3). The first, second and third releasable connectors releasably attach to a sheet of flexible material in use.
Temperature control roller, transporting arrangement and vacuum arrangement
According to various embodiments, the temperature control roller may comprise: a cylindrical roller shell, which has a multiplicity of gas outlet openings; a temperature control device, which is configured to supply and/or extract thermal energy to or from the cylindrical roller shell; multiple gas lines made to extend along the axis of rotation; a gas distributing structure, which couples the multiple gas lines and the multiplicity of gas outlet openings to one another in a gas-conducting manner, the gas distributing structure having a lower structure density than the multiplicity of gas outlet openings.
A SUCTION ROLLER STRUCTURE FOR AN INTERLEAVING MACHINE
Vacuum commutation apparatus and methods
The present invention provides a method and apparatus for transporting a discrete element. A preferably rotatably driven vacuum commutation zone (or internal vacuum manifold), preferably internal to a preferably independently driven porous vacuum roll or drum is disclosed. The vacuum manifold applies vacuum through pores in the driven porous vacuum roll or puck in order to hold material against an external surface of the vacuum roll or puck. By independently controlling the vacuum commutation zone and the driven porous surface, unique motion profiles of the vacuum commutation zone relative to the driven porous surface can be provided. Micro vacuum commutation port structures are also disclosed.
