Provided are a sheet position detection apparatus, a sheet conveyance apparatus, and an image formation apparatus. The sheet position detection apparatus has a first and a second conveyance roller which are arranged to oppose across a sheet to be conveyed and to nip the sheet, and a detector configured to detect an end position of the sheet, the detector has a light emitter and a light receptor arranged on the first conveyance roller side, the light emitter and the light receptor are arranged such that a light emitted from the light emitter is reflected on a reflective face of the second conveyance roller and enters the light receptor, and the detector detects passage of an end of the sheet based on a change in the amount of light entering the light receptor when the sheet shields a light emitted from the light emitter.

Provided is a technique that enables proper sorting of discharged print media by suppressing curling of each of the print media sufficiently. A determining unit determines a curling suppressing operation to be executed such that in a case where sorting operation is executed, the suppressing operation having a higher effect of suppressing curling is executed than in a case where the sorting operation is executed. Then, a print control unit controls a print head to perform printing on print media while executing the suppressing operation determined by the determining unit.

An electronic dispenser for dispensing flexible sheet material. A control circuit receives a plurality of signals and controls dispensing of the sheet material. A tear bar is mounted within the housing for severance of the sheet material. A pivotally mounted pawl member is located proximate to the tear bar such that movement of the sheet material into the tear bar for severance pivots the pawl member from a first position to a second position, such movement causing a signal to be sent to the control circuit. The dispensing mechanism is operative in a first mode to be responsive to a signal from a proximity sensor to dispense a sheet of material, and is operative in a second mode to dispense a next sheet in response to the signal activated by movement of the pawl member to the second position in response to dispensed sheet material being removed from the dispenser.

Method for rolling up definite lengths of a mats in a unidirectional rolled roll, where mats are advanced one after another into a rolling mechanism in flattened out condition and released from the mechanism in rolled up condition. A rolled up mat is ejected from the rolling mechanism and caused to roll out therefrom on top of a succeeding flattened out mat which advances towards the rolling mechanism. A mat rolling station for performing the method is provided, where a ramp conveyer is provided which advances a flattened mat towards the rolling mechanism. At the rolling mechanism, bending conveyers are provided for advancing the forwardly moving mat sections into a circular bend on the ramp conveyer. A difference of surface speeds of the bending conveyers and the ramp conveyer is controllable by a signal provoked by the advance of a succeeding mat on the ramp conveyer before the rolling mechanism.

A sheet conveyance device includes a shape detecting portion, and a switch control portion. The shape detecting portion detects a shape of a sheet at a detection position located between a first conveyance member and an image forming position in a sheet conveyance path. The switch control portion, when the first conveyance member is determined to be in an accelerated state where it is accelerated from a stopped state to a driven state, switches an detection interval at which the shape of the sheet is detected by the shape detecting portion, to a first interval that corresponds to a rotation speed of the first conveyance member, and when the first conveyance member is determined to be in a decelerated state where it is decelerated from the driven state to the stopped state, switches the detection interval to a predetermined second interval.
