A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a control unit for executing a stop process of stopping a second sheet in a state in which the second sheet is nipped by a second conveyance portion, and a conveyance restart process of restarting conveyance of the second sheet stopped by the second conveyance portion. The control unit has a first mode in which the conveyance restart process is performed at a first timing at which a first time has elapsed since a first sheet has passed a reference position, and a second mode in which the conveyance restart process is performed at a second timing at which a second time longer than the first time has elapsed since the first sheet has passed the reference position.

A relay conveyance device includes a relay conveyance path arranged between an image forming apparatus and a post processing device to convey a sheet from the image forming apparatus to the post processing device, two reversing units reversing a surface side and a back-face side of the sheet, and a control device controlling conveyance of the sheet on the relay conveyance path. The relay conveyance path includes two reverse paths respectively passing through the two reversing units, a branch section branching into the two reverse paths at an upstream side, and a confluence section joining the two reverse paths. The control device controls the branch and confluence sections to convey the sheet while alternately switching the two reverse paths, measures an interval time between the sheets passing through the confluence section, and controls conveyance of the sheet in the two reverse paths so as to uniformize the interval time.

A sheet conveyance apparatus includes a control unit configured to execute a stop process of stopping a second sheet in a state in which the second sheet is nipped by a second conveyance portion, and a conveyance restart process of restarting conveyance of the second sheet stopped by the second conveyance portion. A rotary feeding member includes a plurality of first regions each including a plurality of first protruding portions and a plurality of first recessed portions, and a plurality of second regions each including a plurality of second protruding portions and a plurality of second recessed portions. The plurality of first regions and plurality of second regions are alternately arranged in a rotating direction of the rotary feeding member, and a ratio of a second depth of the second recessed portions to a first depth of the first recessed portions is 0.4 or greater and 0.8 or less.

A separation roller for a sheet feeding apparatus includes an outer circumferential portion formed from an elastic material, a core portion to which the outer circumferential portion is attached; and a flange portion including a plurality of projecting portions each projecting to an outside in a radial direction with respect to the core portion. At least one of the plurality of projecting portions includes a first surface provided on a side portion thereof on an upstream side in a first direction in which the separation roller rotates in such a manner as to follow the rotary feeding member rotating to feed the sheet. The first surface extends more upstream in the first direction at a position further on an outside in a radial direction with respect to a rotation axis of the separation roller as viewed in the axial direction.

An image forming apparatus includes: a conveyance path that conveys a sheet; registration rollers that are arranged across the conveyance path and each comprise a nip part; a sheet locking member that locks a front end of a sheet conveyed in the conveyance path, where the sheet locking member swings between a first attitude and a second attitude, in the first attitude the sheet locking member locks the sheet on an upstream side of the nip part, and in the second attitude the sheet locking member is retracted to a downstream side of the nip part and allows the sheet to pass through the nip part; an energizer that energizes the sheet locking member to maintain the first attitude; and a hardware processor that detects deterioration of the energizer.

An image forming device comprising: a tray in which multiple number of sheets are stored; a feeder that feeds the sheet stored in the tray; and a hardware processor that: measures a carrying speed of the sheet fed by the feeder; determines whether or not the measured carrying speed is affected by the following sheet; corrects the carrying speed upon determining the carrying speed is affected by the following sheet; and detects a wear status on the feeder based on the measured carrying speed or the corrected carrying speed.

In accordance with an embodiment, a sheet processing apparatus, containing a controller that acquires a predetermined data associated with a physical quantity of one of a driving motor or a driven member driven by the motor based on a predetermined signal, compare the predetermined data with a threshold value, and determine whether to transmit a request for increasing a discharge interval of a sheet based on the comparative result.

The image forming apparatus includes a feeding unit, a detection unit provided downstream of the feeding unit, a measurement unit that measures a measured time from the start of conveyance of a recording material to the detection of the recording material, and a determination unit that performs renewal determination for determining whether the feeding unit has been replaced with a new unit. Thus, replacement of the feeding unit with a new unit can automatically be detected.
