Image forming apparatus that applies a powder to reduce adhesion of an adhesive layer
Provided is an image forming apparatus including an image forming unit that forms an image on a recording medium, and an applying unit that causes powder included in a liquid mixture to be interposed between the recording medium and the image forming unit by applying the liquid mixture to the recording medium, or to the image forming unit which comes into contact with the recording medium, wherein the recording medium includes an image forming layer, an adhesive layer, and a base layer, and the liquid mixture includes the powder reducing adhesion of the adhesive layer and volatile liquid.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes an image forming portion configured to form a toner image on a recording material; a fixing portion configured to fix the toner image on the recording material; a stacking portion configured to stack the recording material on which the toner image is fixed; an air passageway provided between the image forming portion and the fixing portion and between the image forming portion and the stacking portion; and an air blowing portion configured to blow air to the air passageway. The air passageway is configured so that the air blown by the air blowing portion passes below the stacking portion and thereafter is folded back below the fixing portion and then passes again below the stacking portion.
INK JET PRINTING APPARATUS AND COLOR CONVERSION PROCESSING DEVICE
There are provided an ink jet printing apparatus and a color conversion processing device that can prevent the generation of offset and blocking and can stably jet ink. A first LUT in which a total amount of ink after conversion is large overall and a second LUT in which a total amount of ink after conversion is small overall are prepared as a look-up table (LUT) that is used in color conversion processing. A LUT to be used is selected according to the number of printed mediums. The first LUT is selected in a case in which the number of printed mediums is smaller than a threshold value, and the second LUT is selected in a case in which the number of printed mediums is equal to or larger than a threshold value.
Sheet processing apparatus that applies an adhesive for binding sheets
A sheet processing apparatus includes a sheet tray on which one or more sheets to be processed are placed, an adhesive applying unit, and a pressing member. The adhesive applying unit has an end portion that faces the sheet tray and holds an adhesive material and is configured to move towards the sheet tray up to a position at which the end portion is in contact with or proximate to a sheet on the sheet tray and apart from the sheet tray. The pressing member is configured to move into and out of a moving path of the adhesive applying unit. The pressing member is pressed against a sheet on the sheet tray by the adhesive applying unit, when the pressing member is in the moving path of the adhesive applying unit and the adhesive applying unit moves towards the sheet tray.
Sheet processing apparatus for determining likelihood of sheets to stick after stacking
A sheet processing apparatus comprises a sheet placing section in which recording media are stacked, a storage section configured to record a total amount of toner on the recording media stacked in the sheet placing section, and a control section configured to determine whether or not the recording media stacked in the sheet placing section is likely to stick when a new recording medium is stacked thereon, based on the total amount of toner on the recording media stacked in the sheet placing section.
IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
An image forming apparatus includes a printing unit, first and second stacking units, first and second conveyance units, and a control unit. When the first conveyance unit conveys a sheet to the first stacking unit, the printing unit prints an image on a first number of sheets as first sheets in a first printing operation and prints the image on the first sheets in a second printing operation. When the second conveyance unit conveys the sheet to the second stacking unit, the printing unit prints the image on a second number of sheets, greater than the first number of sheets, as second sheets in the first printing operation and prints the image on the second sheets in the second printing operation. A number of sheets printed per unit time in the second printing operation is less than a number of sheets printed per unit time in the first printing operation.
LINE PRINTER HAVING USER REPLACEABLE PLATEN ROLLERS
A system and method for user friendly replacement of printer platen rolls includes a roll assembly having a support shaft with a bearing seated in a flange at one end. A crescent notch in a printer chassis receives the shaft into an interior of the notch. The assembly is moved axially so that a flange neck nests in the notch with a flange lip contacting a surface of the chassis. A lock contacts the lip to prevent axial motion of the assembly when installed. An opposed side of the shaft is placed in a bearing on an opposite side of the chassis.
Sheet conveying device and image forming apparatus having the same
A sheet conveying device includes a first tray, a conveying portion, a second tray, and a conveyance control portion. The conveying portion has: a first conveying path that extends from the first tray; a second conveying path that makes the first conveying path and the second tray communicate with each other and is provided with an ejecting roller pair; a third conveying path that makes the second conveying path and an ejecting space communicate with each other and is provided with a reverse roller pair. After a first sheet passes through the reference position, the conveyance control portion stops rotation of the ejecting roller pair with the first sheet conveyed in the second conveying path nipped by the sheet ejecting roller pair, and after a second sheet passes through the reference position, the conveyance control portion rotates the reverse roller pair with the rotation of the ejecting roller pair stopped.
SHEET FEEDING DEVICE AND IMAGE FORMING APPARATUS
A sheet feeding device includes a sheet storage portion, a lifting plate, a swing driving portion, a feeding portion, a sheet detection portion, and a control portion. The control portion arranges the lifting plate in a feeding position when a feeding job for the sheet starts, and arranges the lifting plate in a retracted position when the feeding job ends. At the end of the feeding job, while the lifting plate is moving from the feeding position to the retracted position, if the detection state of the sheet detection portion changes from a sheet-present state to a no-sheet state, the control portion rearranges the lifting plate in the feeding position.
