A sheet conveying device includes a driving roller, a driven roller and a pair of bearing members. The pair of bearing members is configured to rotatably support both ends of a rotating shaft of the driven roller. The bearing member has a supporting part and a pressing part. The supporting part is formed by winding an end portion on one side of a wire rod in a spiral shape. The supporting part has a shaft hole through which one end of the rotating shaft can be inserted. The pressing part is formed by winding an end portion on the other side of the wire rod in a spiral shape in an orthogonal direction to the rotating shaft. The pressing part is disposed so as to press the supporting part in a direction in which the driven roller comes into pressure contact with the outer face of the driving roller.

A sheet material storage includes a housing space structure that forms a housing space to house a sheet material and an acoustic device that uses a Helmholtz resonator. At least a part of a cavity of the Helmholtz resonator is formed in the housing space structure.

An image forming apparatus, having a housing, a flapper swingable relatively to the housing between a first position and a second position; a pressure link swingable relatively to the housing and the flapper, a first contact surface arranged on the housing, a first urging member to urge the flapper to swing relatively to the pressure link toward the first contact surface, a second urging member to urge the pressure link to act on the flapper to tend toward staying in the first position, and a flapper switcher having a pressure applier movable between a pressing position and a separated position, is provided. The flapper is swingable relatively to the pressure link against an urging force from the first urging member, after the pressure applier presses the pressure link to move the flapper from the first position to the second position and when the flapper contacts the first contact surface.

A sheet conveying device includes a pickup roller, a separator, a conveyor, and circuitry. The pickup roller contacts an uppermost sheet of sheets stacked on a sheet stacker and feed the uppermost sheet. The separator moves the pickup roller between a contact position at which the pickup roller is in contact with the uppermost sheet and a separation position at which the pickup roller is separated from the uppermost sheet. The conveyor conveys the uppermost sheet fed by the pickup roller. The circuitry is to control the conveyor to temporarily stop conveyance of the uppermost sheet, and control the separator to move the pickup roller from the contact position to the separation position in response to the temporarily stop of the conveyor.

A transport device includes a skew correction unit configured to correct skew of a medium by colliding with the medium and a buffer unit provided with a contact portion configured to come into contact with the medium between a first transport unit transporting the medium to the skew correction unit and the skew correction unit in a transport direction. The buffer unit is configured such that a second transport velocity is lower than a first transport velocity, the first transport velocity being a transport velocity of the medium upstream of the buffer unit in the transport direction, the second transport velocity being a transport velocity of the medium when the medium collides with the skew correction unit after coming into contact with the contact portion. The buffer unit is configured such that the contact portion does not collide with the medium strongly enough to correct the skew of the medium.

An output-sheet-stacking device includes: a tray including a rear wall and disposed in a downward direction from an outlet through which a sheet is output, the tray allowing the sheet output from the outlet to be stacked on the tray with the sheet being in a position in which a front edge of the sheet is positioned in an upward direction from a rear edge of the sheet; and at least one impact absorbing part provided on the rear wall of the tray and configured to, while receiving the rear edge of the sheet stacked on the tray, absorb an impact caused by a hit of the sheet, the at least one impact absorbing part including an inclined surface extending diagonally downward as proceeding in an output direction of the sheet and intersecting a surface of the rear wall when viewed from a side.
