A sheet conveyer having a load applier unit is provided. The load applier unit includes a contacting member, a lever, a contractive spring, and a preloading member. The lever is movable between a first position, in which the lever being moved in a direction to stretch the contractive spring causes the contractive spring having been stretched by the preloading member to be further stretched to urge the contacting member and causes the load applier unit to apply a load that acts in a direction to press a feed roller against sheets on a tray to the holder, and a second position, in which the contractive spring is maintained in a condition stretched by the preloading member without causing the load applier unit to apply the load that acts in the direction to press the feed roller against the sheets on the tray to the holder.

A sheet conveyer having a load applier unit is provided. The load applier unit includes a contacting member, a lever, a contractive spring, and a preloading member. The lever is movable between a first position, in which the lever being moved in a direction to stretch the contractive spring causes the contractive spring having been stretched by the preloading member to be further stretched to urge the contacting member and causes the load applier unit to apply a load that acts in a direction to press a feed roller against sheets on a tray to the holder, and a second position, in which the contractive spring is maintained in a condition stretched by the preloading member without causing the load applier unit to apply the load that acts in the direction to press the feed roller against the sheets on the tray to the holder.

A recording apparatus includes: a housing; a recording section that performs a recording operation on a medium and is disposed inside the housing; a storage section that stores the medium; a transport route along which the medium is transported; a transport section that transports the medium; a reading section that reads an original sheet and is positioned higher than the recording section; a supply section that supplies the original sheet to the reading section; and a supply route through which the original sheet passes. Each of the supply and transport routes is formed at substantially right angles to a width of the housing. The transport route has a curved section in which the medium is turned over. The reading section is positioned behind the recording section in a depth direction from the front to rear surface of the housing.

There is provided a conveyance apparatus including: a main body including a drive source, and a conveyance portion to which a drive force is transmitted from the drive source; an equipped unit including a drive portion to which the drive force is transmitted from the drive source in the main body; a first gear provided in the main body and rotated by the drive force transmitted thereto from the drive force; a first gear holder provided swingably in the main body to support the first gear; a second gear provided in the equipped unit to transmit the drive force to the drive portion; a second gear holder provided swingably in the equipped unit to support the second gear; and a third gear supported by a connecting shaft connecting the first and second gear holders to engage respectively with the first and second gears.

A medium transport unit includes an upstream route in which a print sheet is transported, a first switchback route, a second switchback route, a first guide route, a second guide route, a guide flap configured to switch the route so that the print sheet in the upstream route is transported either toward the first guide route or toward the second guide route, a first discharge route from which the print sheet in the first switchback route is discharged, a second discharge route from which the print sheet in the second switchback route is discharged, and a downstream route passing between the first switchback route and the second switchback route and having an upstream end connected to a junction of downstream ends of the first discharge route and the second discharge route.

A medium transport unit includes an upstream route in which a print sheet is transported, a first switchback route, a second switchback route, a first guide route, a second guide route, a guide flap configured to switch the route so that the print sheet in the upstream route is transported either toward the first guide route or toward the second guide route, a first discharge route from which the print sheet in the first switchback route is discharged, a second discharge route from which the print sheet in the second switchback route is discharged, and a downstream route passing between the first switchback route and the second switchback route and having an upstream end connected to a junction of downstream ends of the first discharge route and the second discharge route.

An image forming apparatus having a compact size includes a printing medium supplying unit to hold printing media and to supply a printing medium, an image forming unit disposed above the printing medium supplying unit to form images on a printing medium, and a printing medium feeding part substantially formed in a letter C shape, having a part which extends to the image forming unit and which is inclined in a downward direction along a printing medium moving direction to feed the printing medium from the printing medium supplying unit to the image forming unit.
