A mole trap formed of spring-biased jaws that are positioned underground. A trigger plate is mounted above and in line with the jaws. The trigger plate is extendable to reach farther into the ground and retractable back into a stored position. The adjustable trigger plate allows fine tuning of the trap for different conditions.

A pivot rod is coupled through the upper portion of each of the pair of jaws such that the inner jaw pivotably moves within the outer jaw between a clamped position and a spread position. A spring engages the pair of crossbars to force the pair of jaws towards the clamped position. A trigger plate is coupled to the crossbar of the inner jaw. A set rod maintains the pair of jaws in the spread position.

A trap is provided, including: a clamping device, being operable to provide a catching space; and a shielding member, movably connected to the clamping device, the shielding member being movable to shield at least part of the catching space.

A mouse catching and killing device and a method of eliminating mice with the mouse catching and killing device, the device including a jaw. The method comprises the steps of holding the jaw open until a mouse is sensed in the jaw, closing the jaw when a mouse is sensed in the jaw, providing a mechanism on a frame for moving the jaw to over a storage bin, opening the jaw so that the mouse falls from the jaw into the storage bin, and then returning the trap to its mouse ready position.

An animal trap includes a pair of complementary curved jaws rotatably mounted on a frame or base plate, and springs on the frame cooperating with a pair of opposed levers for urging the jaws toward each other from an open position to a closed or animal foot-holding restraining position. A foot pan is located on the frame between the jaws. A trigger release assembly is employed to restrain the jaws in the open position by being engaged between the pan and jaws. When the animal steps on the pan causing it to move axially downward, the trigger-release assembly is activated causing the spring-biased levers to close the jaws about the foot of the animal.

A trap has a housing including an entrance. Internally, the trap has a trigger structure including a trigger plate and a latch mechanism, coupled with the housing; and a pivoting structure pivotally coupled with the housing and adapted to releasably engage with the latch mechanism of the trigger structure. When the trap is triggered by a rodent, the pivoting structure disengages from the latch mechanism and the pivoting structure pivots towards a rear wall of the housing and the trigger plate, and the trigger plate pivots toward the pivoting structure, moving the rodent against towards the rear wall of the housing and trapping the rodent between the pivoting structure and the rear wall. Once the trap is triggered, the rodent is contained and in most cases, killed, within the trap.
