AVIAN COLLISION AVOIDANCE SYSTEM AND METHOD
An avian collision avoidance system utilizing a lighting system and a power source. The lighting system is able to focus on a power line, or power lines, or other structure such as a wind turbine or cell tower, to provide illumination visible to avian populations. The power source may generate power by any means necessary, may store power and may supply power to the lighting system. The lighting system will provide a light source in a desired wavelength to accommodate both humans and birds as necessary.
Shark deterrent
Disclosed is an apparatus that is able to generate an image to deter a shark from attacking a watercraft (e.g. a surf-craft). Also disclosed are methods of manufacturing and retrofitting watercraft to include the apparatus that is able to generate an image to deter a shark from attacking the watercraft.

Method and apparatus for deterring pest with a laser beam
An apparatus for automatically deterring pest with a light projection on the ground that is perceived as a predator by pests such as birds, which triggers a fear reaction from the birds to leave the area. The apparatus is designed to project a large beam of more than 60 mm diameter in visible light with sufficient power to be seen during daylight. The apparatus is adapted to pan and tilt continuously and randomly within specified limits that are programmed to project the beam in various areas and protect the areas from birds. The apparatus relies on a robotic arm or orientable support mounted on a frame that can be displaced or repositioned easily thanks to a forklift. Methods for activating and controlling the apparatus are also provided.

BIRD FRIENDLY ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES
Various embodiments herein relate to electrochromic windows that are bird friendly, as well as methods and apparatus for forming such windows. Bird friendly windows include one or more elements that make the window visible to birds so that the birds recognize that they cannot fly through the window. An electrochromic window includes one or more transparent substrates, wherein at least one of the substrates is an electrochromic (EC) lite including an electrochromic device and a pattern formed on at least one of the substrates by a laser, the pattern including a first feature configured to provide a set of optical properties different than optical properties of the transparent substrate. The set of optical properties includes one or more characteristics of refractivity, reflectivity and diffraction.

Power line protection device
A power line protection device protects a power line from avifauna. The power line protection device includes at least two of an attachment portion attached to the power line, the attachment portion having a helical turn that winds around the power line, a lighting apparatus for emitting light, or a reflective device having a reflective material that reflects light. The lighting apparatus is attached to at least one of the attachment portion or the reflective device. The reflective device is attached to at least one of the attachment portion or the lighting apparatus. A method for protecting a power line from avifauna is provided.

Textured window film
A textured window film has a prismatic effect that allows a substantial amount of incoming light to pass through a window while refracting the light at random or semi-random angles in a manner that distorts viewed images. The result is a window film that is brighter and more vibrant while also providing visual privacy. The textured window film can therefore better simulate real textured and colored glass.
