GLASS PANE WITH A COATING FOR REDUCING BIRD COLLISIONS
20240417319 · 2024-12-19 ·

A glass pane includes a substrate made of glass, a coating for reducing bird collisions, wherein at least one surface of the substrate has a pattern of coated regions, which are provided with the coating, and wherein the coating is based on silicon zirconium mixed nitride (SiZIN).

A GLAZING

A glazing for minimizing or preventing bird collisions with windows or other glazings, the glazing comprising at least one substrate, and at least one anti-reflective coating, wherein said coating is deposited directly, or indirectly, on the substrate in a patterned arrangement comprising a plurality of separate elements. In one embodiment, the elements comprise a plurality of stripes, in another a plurality of dots. Embodiments may comprise an additional coating, for example a UV reflectance coating.

Bird protection glazing

The invention relates to at least partly transparent or translucent molded plastic parts for producing noise protection walls, facade components, and glazings which ensure effective bird protection. In particular, the invention relates to molded plastic parts comprising g) at least one substrate layer (matrix/base layer) containing at least one thermoplastic polymer, wherein the substrate layer comprises a base layer and a coextrusion layer adjoining said base layer, said coextrusion layer comprising at least one IR absorber; a) optionally at least one cover layer on at least one face of the substrate layer; and b) optionally a primer or an intermediate layer between the layers a) and b). The invention is characterized in that the molded plastic part has markings in the substrate layer, said markings reducing the transparency of the molded part in the wavelength range of 380 to 780 nm in the marked regions.

DEVICE FOR POWERLINE PRESERVATION
20170202207 · 2017-07-20 ·

The present invention features an elegantly-mounted pinwheel comprising alternating holographic red and silver non-metallic tape-like material. The pinwheel uses connector bolts and hexagonal coupling nuts to be mounted or positioned directly onto various components of a power pole or utility pole system such as bushings, fuse cutouts, regulators, reclosures, lightning arresters, or underground primary dips. The invention will deter animals such as birds and squirrels from scaling or landing on the power pole or utility pole system when the invention is properly mounted. The invention takes advantage of the alternating colors of the pinwheel to scare the animals. The present invention requires no housing, rotors, drums, or support plates. The invention does not rely on sound, and it requires no electricity or motor. The stainless steel hex standoff coupling nut comes preferably in and can be ordered in different sizes to accommodate the device.
