BIRD FRIENDLY ELECTROCHROMIC DEVICES
Various embodiments herein relate to electrochromic windows that are bird friendly, as well as methods and apparatus for forming such windows. Bird friendly windows include one or more elements that make the window visible to birds so that the birds recognize that they cannot fly through the window. Bird friendly windows can be used to minimize avian-window collisions, and therefore minimize avian deaths resulting from such collisions. In various embodiments, a window may be patterned such that the pattern is visible to birds. In these or other cases, the window may be made hazy, where the haze is visible to birds. The pattern and/or haze may be visible at wavelengths that fall in UV, and minimally noticeable (if at all) in wavelengths within the spectrum visible by humans.

REFLECTIVE SPINNING BIRD DETERRENT
A reflective bird deterrent, having a base, a center post attached to and extending up from the base, and first and second spinner assemblies having a plurality of fins rotatably attached to the center post. The plurality of fins on the first spinner are angled such that they spin in the opposite direction of the plurality of fins on the second spinner, and the plurality of fins on the first spinner and the plurality of fins on the second spinner are reflective.

OPTICALLY STRUCTURED ELEMENT FOR A BIRD PROTECTION GLASS, OPTICAL SYSTEM AND USE OF THE OPTICALLY STRUCTURED ELEMENT
An optically structured element (1) for minimizing or preventing bird collisions, includes a carrier element (2), a high-reflectivity region (3), and a low-reflectivity region (4); which is distinguished in that a double cone reflectance difference of a first double cone reflectance of the high-reflectivity region (3) and a second double cone reflectance of the low-reflectivity region (4) is greater than or equal to 5% and a VIS transmission ratio of the first VIS transmittance and the second VIS transmittance is greater than or equal to 70% and less than or equal to 200%.

Bird deterrent
An apparatus for deterring birds and other animals from an area is provided, including a sheet of a material, such as a metallic material, having a first end comprising a hole through the sheet, a second end separated from the first end by a length of the sheet and a width. The apparatus further includes a cable comprising a first loop at one end inserted through the hole in the first end of the sheet configured to attach the cable to the sheet and a second loop at another end and separated from the first loop. The second loop forms an opening having a diameter greater than the width of the sheet. The sheet can be inserted and passed through the second loop, which defines a third loop to secure the cable to a structure from which the sheet is suspended, by tightening the third loop around the structure.

Repellent and attractant composition for dichromatic animals
The combination of a repellent agent or an attractant agent with a wavelength-specific visual cue agent has been found to produce an unexpected and synergistic effect of increased repellency or attraction in dichromatic animals who are not maximally sensitive to the wavelength of the repellent or attractant agent. The method of the invention may be used to repel dichromatic-animal pests; or to prevent or minimize monetary damage, particularly to agricultural products, natural resources or private property. The method of the invention may also be used to attract dichromatic animals for the purpose of agricultural production, recreational opportunities (e.g., wild-rodent feeders), or the effective administration of target-animal pharmaceuticals or mitigation techniques.
