Avian Repellant Tape With Ultraviolet Patterning
An avian pest repellant device comprises an avian pest deterrent and an ultraviolet component. The device is preferably embodied as a tape that can be adhered to a window, to help prevent birds from flying into the window.
Imaging Array for Bird or Bat Detection and Identification
An automated system for mitigating risk from a wind farm. The automated system may include an array of a plurality of image capturing devices independently mounted in a wind farm. The array may include a plurality of low resolution cameras and at least one high resolution camera. The plurality of low resolution cameras may be interconnected and may detect a spherical field surrounding the wind farm. A server is in communication with the array of image capturing devices. The server may automatically analyze images to classify an airborne object captured by the array of image capturing devices in response to receiving the images.

Tunable LED light array for horticulture
Disclosed are devices, methods, and techniques for providing photosynthetically active radiation (PAR) for plants, i.e. lighting. Devices including light emitting diodes (LEDs) are disclosed than can be used as lighting for plants grown indoors or outdoors. The disclosed LEDs significantly reduce power consumption for horticulture lighting, provide the wavelengths needed by plants to optimize growth, and provide growers with the ability to control PAR in order to optimize grow strategies. The disclosed LEDs provide the correct wavelengths of light (300-800 nanometers (nm)) for photosynthesis with a uniform intensity across the LED device thereby providing an even photon delivery to plant canopy and into the underlying leaves within the plant canopy. The intensity and mixture of wavelengths provided by the LED device can be controlled by adjusting the electrical power delivered to individual LEDs included in the LED device.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE LIGHT INTENSITY OF A FACILITY, AND ASSOCIATED SYSTEM
A method that includes the following steps: determination of predictive meteorological data in a region surrounding the facility; querying of a database about the presence of birds in the region surrounding the facility; calculation, by a prediction unit, of the probability of birds passing opposite the facility as a function of time, on the basis of the predictive meteorological data and data relating to the presence of birds in the region surrounding the facility; and control, by a control unit, of at least one light source of the facility, on a basis of the probability of passage, calculated by the prediction unit.
APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR DETERRING BIRDS BY LASER
The invention concerns an apparatus and a method for deterring birds, comprising a frame fixedly disposed on a structure; a laser light generator connected with the frame, including a laser light source for generating a laser light beam; a supply circuit for supplying the laser light source; driving means connected with the laser light generator, for having at least a part of the laser light generator move; and a control element for controlling the laser light source and the drivable part of the laser light generator, wherein the driving means are arranged for causing a movement to be executed of at least a drivable part of the laser light generator. Thus, an apparatus and a method are obtained having a greater effect in deterring birds.

DISPLAY DEVICE
A display device includes: a data driver for providing data voltages to data output lines; a data divider for coupling the data output lines to data lines; and a data compensator for compensating data voltages based on a load difference between data voltages in adjacent pixel rows.
Systems and methods for detecting flying animals
A system for detecting flying animals, the system comprising: a detection module configured to detect flying animals; a local processing module associated with the detection module and configured to remove background noise from data gathered by the detection module; an analysis module configured to receive data from the local processing module and process said data to determine presence of flying animals and classify such flying animals by species; and a deterrent configured to repel one or more species of flying animal based on the classification of detected flying animals.
Apparatus to effect an optical barrier to pests
An apparatus is provided for effecting an optical barrier and includes a light source emitting a beam. The apparatus also includes a moveable mirror and an actuator to move the mirror to reflect the beam into a plurality of directions or locations. In some embodiments, the apparatus also includes a processor and a memory chip including a sequence of instructions. The memory chip and the sequence of instructions causes the processor to receive data from a sensor system that indicates a location of a pest and operate the actuator to move the mirror to direct the beam to sweep through a range of directions that include the location of the pest. A light fixture is also provided, that includes the apparatus.
