The fixed pulley is provided with a sensor sensing member rotating with the fixed pulley, a traction machine sensor is arranged beside the fixed pulley; the traction machine sensor is configured to detect a rotation speed of the sensor sensing member, and send the rotation speed to a controller of the traction machine; the controller controls a rotation of the traction pulley according to detected data of the traction machine sensor. Since this kind of traction machine is provided with the sensor sensing member and the traction machine sensor, it is capable of detecting whether the traction machine has an abnormal operation, and stopping the traction machine immediately in an abnormal state.

The brake state detection switch is operated by a mechanism 8 which operates the safety gear with an operation of the electric actuator. The brake state detection switch is in an off state for a displacement of the mechanism during interruption of power supply. The brake state detection switch is turned on for the displacement of the mechanism during the brake of the safety gear.

An elevator system includes an elevator car moveable between a plurality of landings and a brake configured to stop the elevator car from moving within the elevator shaft. The system includes a safety controller and at least one safety device. The safety controller monitors for a change in status of the at least one safety device. Upon detection of a change to a new status, the safety controller evaluates whether the new status is a first status corresponding to an emergency situation or a second status corresponding to a non-critical change. The safety controller is further configured to apply the brake immediately to stop the elevator car when the new status is a first status or allow the elevator car to move to a landing when the new status is a second status.
