The space is a longitudinal slot between the adjacent wedge members.

Wire rope flaw detector and adjustment method therefor

Provided is a wire rope flaw detector, which is capable of improving detection accuracy for a wire rope breakage by keeping an interval between a wire rope to be subjected to a measurement and an adjacent wire rope. The wire rope flaw detector includes: a magnetizer, which is configured to form a main magnetic path in a predetermined set interval of a wire rope in an axial direction of the wire rope; a detection coil, which is arranged in the predetermined set interval so as to be magnetically insulated from the magnetizer and is configured to detect a leakage magnetic flux generated by a damage portion of the wire rope; and position restricting mechanisms, which are configured to keep an interval between the wire rope passing through the detection coil and a wire rope adjacent to the wire rope passing through the detection coil.

Fiber reinforced elevator belt and method of manufacture

A belt for suspending and/or driving an elevator car extending longitudinally along a length of the belt. An inner belt layer formed from a first material is bonded to the plurality of tension elements at a first side of the belt. The inner belt layer forms an inner belt surface interactive with a traction sheave of an elevator system. An outer belt layer formed from a second material is bonded to the plurality of tension elements at a second side of the belt. The plurality of tension elements are located between the first side and the second side.

The invention relates to a method for defining elongation of an elevator car suspension means. The method comprises: obtaining periodically a value representing an overtravel distance of the elevator car, and defining the elongation of the elevator car suspension means on a basis of the periodically obtained values representing the overtravel distance of the elevator car. The invention relates also to an elevator system performing at least partly the method.

Elevator System

An elevator system includes a travelling cable connected to an elevator car and to a hoistway wall. The travelling cable includes an electric conductor and/or a data carrier operatively connected at a first end to a feed source and at a second end to service appliances of the elevator car. A protective layer includes an outer diameter and surrounds the electric conductor and/or data carrier. A duct is connected at a first open end to a fluid source and at a second openable end to the elevator car. A sensor system is configured for detecting swaying amplitude of the travelling cable. A microprocessor is associated to the sensor system and to the fluid source. The microprocessor is configured for receiving swaying amplitude data from the sensor system and for operating the fluid source when the swaying amplitude exceeds a predetermined threshold.

BREAK DETECTION DEVICE

A break detection device includes a sensor, an abnormal variation detection unit (22), a storage unit (20), an arithmetic unit (23), and a break determination unit (24). The arithmetic unit (23) increases a determination score when the abnormal variation detection unit (22) detects occurrence of an abnormal variation when a car (1) passes a position stored in the storage unit (20). The arithmetic unit (23) decreases the determination score when the abnormal variation detection unit (22) does not detect the occurrence of the abnormal variation when the car (1) passes the position. The break determination unit (24) determines whether or not a broken portion is present in a rope on the basis of the determination score.
