Elevator cover assembly

An elevator cover assembly having a cover pad and a trim with openings for receiving a hanging knob inside the elevator is disclosed. The trim is a separate piece attached to the elevator cover after openings are made in the trim. The trim slits formed therein are sized and positioned to receive hanging knobs. The trim is made of a flexible material that can be deformed to broaden the openings to more easily position the openings over the knobs. A hanging knob can be a stud device attached to any wall for hanging a wall cover. The stud device comprises a mount attached to a wall, and a knob extending from the mount and extending outwardly from the wall. The knob is configured to receive an opening of the wall cover to hang the wall cover. A variety of such stud devices is provided.

Embodiments are directed to protecting an elevator. A plurality of knobs may be provided, each respective knob comprising a respective base having a vertical portion, a horizontal portion, a suspension portion, and a face that are coupled to each other. Each knob may also comprise a respective stem coupled to the face of the respective base. The knobs may be hung from an upper edge of a wall panel or suspended ceiling grid in an elevator. A cover may be provided, the cover having a plurality of openings in the cover disposed along the upper edge of the cover. The cover may be hung from the knobs with each knob having the distal end portion of the respective stem extending through a respective one of the openings in the cover.

An elevator car has a connecting device and at least one wall element, wherein the connecting device connects the at least one wall element with a bare ceiling of the elevator car. The connecting device includes a rail element with two legs, of which a first leg bears in the mounted state against the bare ceiling and a second leg has a mounting surface for the at least one wall element. The mounting surface has a first hole for suspending the at least one wall element. The at least one wall element has a suspension element at an edge which faces upwardly in the mounted state for engaging into the first hole of the connecting device.

In a car compartment of an elevator, a standing end section of a panel is fixed to a standing section of a car floor by a screw member which is fastened by being passed through a ventilation hole and a car floor fastening hole from the car floor side, and therefore an operator can assemble the panel on the car floor from the inside of the car compartment, and the workability of assembling the panel on the car floor is improved.

Device and methods for installing elevator cab interior wall panels

The present invention is directed to, inter alia, devices and methods for precision installation of elevator wall panels and intervening reveal strips in an elevator cab shell. Various embodiments comprise corner stays and intermediate stays with pre-installed clips thereon and with locating means installed thereon to facilitate accurate locating of adjacent stay(s) in order to greatly reduce the labor and time required to install the wall panels accurately. Further, various embodiments comprise pre-installed reveal strips on the stay(s) and that are interposed between each installed wall panel. Pre-installing the reveal strips further reduces the labor and time required at the installation site.

Locking system for trap or panels of an elevator car and method of controlling access to an elevator shaft from inside the car

A locking system for an elevator car includes a moveable panel of the elevator car moveable between an open position and a closed position, wherein the open position provides access to a region external to the elevator car. Also included is a plate operatively coupled to an exterior surface of the moveable panel. Further included is a magnetic locking member operatively coupled to an exterior surface of a fixed panel of the elevator car in communication with an electrical member, wherein the plate exerts magnetic forces with the magnetic locking member, the magnetic locking member magnetically coupled to the plate in a first electrical condition of the electrical member to maintain the moveable panel in the closed position and decoupled from the plate in a second electrical condition of the electrical member to allow the moveable panel to be moved to the open position.

An elevator car panel configured to open and methods of opening the same. The elevator car panel includes a handrail configured on a first side of the elevator car panel and a locking mechanism configured on a second side of the elevator car panel, the second side opposite the first side. The handrail is operably connected to the locking mechanism such that movement of the handrail from a first position to a second position operates the locking mechanism to transition from a locked position to an unlocked position and, when in the unlocked position, the elevator car panel is openable.
