ROTARY MACHINE WITH ENCODER DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO ROTOR
A rotary machine is provided that includes a housing, a connection plate, a rotor, a bearing, and an encoder. The housing has a housing wall and a housing shaft. The housing shaft extends from the housing wall in an axial direction along a housing shaft centerline. The rotor extends from the connection plate in the axial direction, and extends (e.g., concentrically) about the housing shaft centerline. The bearing supports the rotor on the housing shaft. The bearing enables rotation of the rotor relative to the housing shaft and about the housing shaft centerline. The encoder is positionally fixed relative to the housing shaft. The encoder has an encoder shaft directly connected to the connection plate. The encoder shaft extends in the axial direction and extends concentrically about the housing shaft centerline. The encoder is operable to sense a rotation characteristic of the encoder shaft. The encoder is operable to determine a rotation characteristic of the connection plate based on the rotation characteristic of the encoder shaft.

An energy-saving elevator. The energy-saving elevator includes an elevator car, a counterweight, a lift cable, and a hoist-type lifting mechanism. The hoist-type lifting mechanism includes a first adjustable pulley, a second adjustable pulley, and an adjustable cable interconnected between the first adjustable pulley and the second adjustable pulley. The first adjustable pulley includes a first fixed conical member with a first conical surface and a first moveable conical member with a second conical surface. The first conical surface and the second conical surface form a first trapezoid-shape groove between the first fixed conical member and the first moveable conical member. The first trapezoid-shape groove is configured to receive the adjusting cable. The first conical surface and the second conical surface are configured to hold the adjusting cable inside the first trapezoid-shape groove.

A rack for a machine roomless elevator system, an elevator lifting drive, and an elevator system are disclosed. The rack includes: a base, configured to be fixed to an upper portion within an elevator shaft; a bracket, connected to the base and defining an accommodating space together with the base; and a rotating member, arranged in the accommodating space and rotatably supported on a support portion extending from the base towards the accommodating space, the rotating member having an engagement portion configured to engage a tension member, and rotating after receiving a driving force and driving an elevator traveling device connected to the tension member to travel along the elevator shaft through the tension member.

A gearless elevator drive system includes a rotatable shaft extending in an axial direction (A) between a first end and a second end of the shaft; an electric motor provided at a side adjacent to the first end of the shaft and coupled to the shaft for rotatably driving the shaft; at least one tension member coupling portion provided at a side adjacent to the second end of the shaft and configured for coupling the shaft with a tension member that is provided for suspending and driving an elevator car; a brake disc provided between the electric motor and the at least one tension member coupling portion and configured for rotating concurrently with the shaft; and at least one brake actuator including at least one brake shoe and configured for selectively urging the at least one brake shoe against the brake disc for braking the brake disc.
