20210114850 · 2021-04-22 ·

Systems and methods for providing a rotatable boom attachment that is rotatable about at least two different axes with respect to an attached boom are described. A system embodiment includes, but is not limited to, a body portion configured to couple to a distal end of a boom, the body portion coupled with a rotational actuator configured to rotate the body portion about a first rotational axis with respect to the boom; a connecting arm rotatably coupled to the body portion; and a motor configured to drive the connecting arm about a second rotational axis having an orientation differing from the first rotational axis, wherein at least one of the body portion or the connecting arm includes a mounting site configured to removably couple to one or more implements.

PORTABLE WINCH

A portable winch and method of use is shown. One advantage of winches shown includes an ability to lower a boom or boom sections into limited access exit pit for winching operations such as pipe bursting. Sectional boom designs shown provide the ability to easily raise and lower a boom large distances without the need for a single long boom. Selected winch designs shown include flexible inserts between the boom and the winch frame that help resist damage from unforeseen shifting of the device during operation. Designs and methods shown also include multiple pulleys on a boom end unit. Fasteners are shown that reduce build up of debris.

A robotic system having a movable gantry robot (10) for conducting construction operations. The gantry may have an expandable bridge (20) and articulated gantry support legs (34) as well as a support track system (60) holding a gantry robot (800) which may hold one or more implements and peripheral devices (806). The device can be moved by propulsion mechanisms, a controller, and one or more geo-positioned control devices to provide position information for the robotic gantry as it moves back and forth along a plurality of work sites (700). The robotic gantry is connected to a power supply system (236). The controller is automated, self-navigating, and activates, deactivates, and/or changes the operation of the propulsion mechanisms, and deploys, retracts, activates, deactivates, and/or changes the operation of one or more of the construction implements. The height of the frame may be adjusted by extending and rotating risers and booms to accommodate different building heights or sub-level heights at a worksite. A conveyor system is optimized for removing dirt from or delivering material to the robotic arm. This invention can be applied to automating construction jobs including surveying, land preparation, excavation, foundation, masonry, framing, and additive fabrication.

Grapple

A grapple for mounting to a boom of a boom crane includes a body member for mounting to the end of a boom of a boom crane including a first wing member and a second wing member and opposing first and second jaw members. Each jaw is hingably coupled to the body member, and hinges with respect to the body member by the action of a hydraulic cylinder. A first end of the hydraulic cylinder is coupled to the jaw member and a second end of the hydraulic cylinder is coupled to a portion of one of the wing members. The first and second wing members extend to position the second end of each hydraulic cylinder rearward of an end of the boom of the boom crane or a coupling between the body member and the boom of the boom crane.
