Crossbow cocking apparatus
10295299 · 2019-05-21 · ·

A cocking mechanism is disclosed. The cocking mechanism comprises an actuator assembly, a hand crank assembly, and a bow string hook assembly. The actuator assembly further comprises clutch assembly having a bearing housing, a bearing cage, a support axle and bearing elements. The bearing housing is defined by an inner peripheral surface having a plurality of inwardly extending annular ramps, wherein the bearing elements contact a portion of the ramps to prevent rotation of the support axle in a first direction, but allows for rotation of the support axle in a second direction when the actuator assembly is in a locked configuration. This provides for immediate braking action against any unforeseen forward motion of the bow string of a crossbow such as when inadvertently or accidently releasing the removable hand crank assembly during the cocking operation.

According to some embodiments, a winch tightening apparatus comprises a mounting plate; a first moment arm coupled to the mounting plate and configured to provide leverage for rotating the mounting plate; and a pawl comprising a first end and a second end. The first end is pivotally coupled to the mounting plate such that the second end pivots to engage a ratchet gear when the mounting plate is rotated in a first direction and pivots to disengage the ratchet gear when the mounting plate is rotated in a second direction opposite the first direction. Some embodiments include a second moment arm coupled to the mounting plate and configured to provide leverage for rotating the mounting plate. Some embodiments include a counterweight coupled to the mounting plate and positioned to rotate the mounting plate in the second direction.

MUTE HAND WINCH

A mute hand winch includes a supporting system, a drive system and a braking system. The drive system includes a drive shaft, a capstan assembly and a first gear. Both the drive shaft and the capstan assembly are disposed at the base, the first gear is in threaded connection with the drive shaft, and the first gear is engaged with the capstan assembly. The braking system includes a second gear and a third gear. The second gear is sleeved on the drive shaft and is located at one side of the first gear. There is a gap between the first gear and the second gear. The first gear and the second gear are selectively attached and locked tightly to prevent the first gear and the capstan assembly from rotating. The third gear is fixed at the base, and the third gear has an unilateral bearing.

TIE-DOWN APPARATUS

A tie-down apparatus includes a frame, a reel, a ratcheted wheel, a ratchet detent, a handle and a security device. The reel is rotatable relative to the frame. The ratcheted wheel is rotatable with the reel. The ratchet detent rattles on the ratcheted wheel to allow the ratcheted wheel to rotate when the ratcheted wheel is rotated in a first sense of direction. The ratchet detent is engaged with the ratcheted wheel to prevent the ratcheted wheel from rotation in an attempt to rotate the ratcheted wheel in a second sense of direction. The security device is movable between a reeling position where the security device keeps the handle connected to the reel and a locking position where the security device is supported on the frame and pressed against the ratchet detent so that the ratchet detent is firmly engaged with the ratcheted wheel, thereby keeping the reel in position.

Manual marine winch with safety knockout override preventing release of winch tension without the handle in the stowed position

A manual marine winch includes a safety knockout override preventing release of winch tension without the handle in stowed position. The winch includes a housing; a rotating drum on the housing; a winch line on the drum; a control for spooling and un-spooling the winch line on the drum, wherein the control includes a handle for selectively tensioning the drum and moveable between a position engaged with the drum and a disengaged stowed position; a tension holding mechanism on the housing comprising a ratchet gear coupled to the drum, a pawl selectively engaged with the ratchet gear, and a knockout configures to selectively disengage the pawl from the gear to allow for release of winch tension; and a safety knockout override coupled to the housing and selectively engaged by the handle and configured to prevent release of winch tension when the handle is not in the stowed position.
