CABLE BREAK-AWAY SAFETY DEVICE
20180251350 · 2018-09-06 ·

A cable break-away device for a rescue hoist connects a cable to a cable drum of the rescue hoist. The cable break-away device provides overload protection to the rescue hoist by disconnecting the cable from the cable drum when the loads transmitted through cable become excessive. The cable break-away device is configured to fracture, releasing the cable from the cable drum, when the loads experienced by the cable break-away device exceed a predetermined failure set point. As such, the cable break-away device forms a mechanical fuse connecting the cable to the cable drum.

An electrical cable reel module for a drone includes a bracket adapted to be firmly fixed to the drone. A reel body is movably and rotatably mounted on the bracket. A first driving device is mounted on one side of the bracket to drive the reel body to rotate and a second driving device is mounted on the other side of the bracket to drive the reel body to move linearly in a first direction. A third driving device is mounted on the bracket to drive the reel body to move linearly in a second direction opposite to that of the first direction. At least one positioning device is mounted among the reel body, the first driving device and the second driving device to selectively drive the reel body to rotate and prevent the reel body from movement and rotation.

Winch line

A winch line includes a length of synthetic rope having a connector end and a terminal end. An eye is formed by a splice at the connector end of the synthetic rope. An elastomeric coating encapsulates the eye. An elastomer mass is formed over and encapsulates a base portion of the eye and a portion of the splice. The winch line has a number of intermediate sections of consistent length along the length of the synthetic rope extending between the elastomer mass and the terminal end. A number of demarcations reside on a surface of the synthetic rope indicating a boundary between the intermediate sections.
